Not a great start

So from my reading on Mud, the 3FE does NOT have a PHH. I looked for it, done see any sign, just wanted a confirmation.

I’m pretty sure I have addressed all the coolant lines at this point.

Radiator/cap, green fan hub, OEM thermostat, and a fused terminal block coming in tomorrow. I also have a external transmission screw on filter I’m going to add. I think I’ll have this thing back on the road by Monday.

I am going to pick up an aftermarket transmission oil cooler. My cousin bought a fan to mount to the front of one. I’m going to utilize it 👍🏻

Change of plan. I’m going to replace the timing cover gasket and crank shaft oil seal. They are leaking, and it’s right there!

I’ve never done that before. Glad I have a manual! I’m getting real deep, and out of my comfort zone, boys.

Also my pushrod cover is leaking. I’ll tackle that another day. I didn’t even know it had a cover there. There’s tons of oil over on that side it’s got to be that gasket shot. I’m learning all kinds of new s*** about the Land Cruiser.

Glad I degreased last night!

That’s a whole bunch of tired Japanese hoses.

Also, I am going to do the pushrod cover gasket. I’m here, I’m in mechanic mode, just be done with it. Then my only two oil leaks will be the rear main, and TC at the trans.

Reuse those clamps, or replace like for like.

Far superior to worm drive clamps

Insane. I’m balls deep anyways so I’m going to clean the girl up. Little suburban spray booth spritz spritz.

Well that was a solid pain in the ass. That cork gasket was just as hard. Pro tip, use a wire wheel on a drill to remove the gasket.

I ended up needing to pull the new water pump the mechanic put on. I ordered an Asin WP to replace. Everything I had that mechanic do, I just replaced… F my wallet.

I was only planning on swapping the radiator…. Hahaha

I’m pretty happy with my results though.

Why Chevy orange on accessory brackets? Factory is black.

Why the fũck not…. Let the man paint shĩt however he wants. He’s already demoralized.

💪💪
Well, I guess orange is the new black, right?

I like painting things lighter colors in the engine bay. helps to see leaks etc. Been doing chevy Orange, old ford blue and whatever Red I have as well as silver. YOLO! plus i get a lot more HPs for each color.

As i get older my memory helps me be happier, however my paint jobs remind me where I've been! Personally it makes me feel better to know that once i take something out, it gets cleaned, treated (if rusted) and painted as all these years have worn on the factory coatings. Growing up hated that my dad never cleaned anything and never knew what was old leak or new.
