Parts have arrived and went in the shop to hae a chat.
I picked up the CV which has a hole in the outer boot and got a better aftermarket one.
Now waiting to have it all bolted back together again.
I saw a video from when they took the bolts holding the crownwheel, just with their fingers!!
What they told me is that normally there are lock tabs holding the bolts, but with a locker in place these can't be used.

Aew challange.
Diff is back under the car.
However, the new uni-joint doesn't fit the yoke.
The mechanic measured both, the yoke is 28mm, the uni-joint cap is 29mm.
He went to a tailshaft shop and they are telling him that the tailshaft I have had to be aftermarket.
It doesn't like like it is.
My mechanic now has asked Toyoya to check their uni-joint measurement and get that in if it is the right size.
One step forward, half a step back.

Another update.
The dealer has informed my mechanic that the uni-joint needed to come from Japan with a 12 week delivery time.
They found another one on the east coast of Australia, but that would cost me AUD$450.
I decided to go online and bought the full front propellor shaft which was deliverd in 1 week from Partsouq.
Dropped it of on the Friday before Christmas and got the phone call yesterday that it was all fixed.
The good news is that the noise seems to be gone!! Yay.
