Yeah was indeed a very good day on the trails. A little bit of winching here and there butt not enough to make it tiresome. Had seven trucks, Crusha in his 80, Pete and John in their 80 series, Dave in his white Lexus, Rob in the 40, and Brian and Joe in their Tacomas. Got out of the staging area about 9:15, no other full size rigs in the lot at that time. We decided to not cross the road and explore but rather to hit some trails that were new to me. The pipeline construction wasn't too much of a hassle today, most if not all of the taped off intersections that had been previously closed were now open.
We did the little hill climb right outside the parking area, then down the main road, up onto trail 22, across the pipeline then down into the bottom of Barney Rubble. From there we went up snakebite then rambled out trail 55 and did the ridge road that was a lot of fun. From there we went over and did lower Anthracite, then down the back road to the approach to twister, down past the chestnut preserve and out to the culvert trial. It was washed out way worse than it ha been the last time we'd been there. Pete managed to cut a sidewall on one of his 37's and we had to swap his spare onto the truck. From there we went through the long water puddle, past the bucket trail and did another rocky trail ( I forget the name already) and from there out to the lot. Got back to the staging area about 3:45.
We saw a few ATV's and cycles during the day but only one group of jeeps they were out by lower and upper anthracite. The rain held off until we were headed out the main road back to the staging area, thankfully. It was cool and no bugs so that made it very enjoyable. All in all it was a very enjoyable day of wheeling. Can't wait to get back into that far corner of the park again!
