Hey guys,

I'm excited to get my first FJ62 and have been reading that rust is the biggest concern. I'm heading to check out this truck today, but I'm not much of a wrench swinger. Is there any rust on these pics that would concern you?

That truck looks excellent from a no rust point of view. No worries (about rust at least).

You want to see rust? Come lool at my 26 years old northeastern rig lol. Thats in good shape dude

It has been my experience that 60s rust high (drip rails, top of A pillar, windshield weather stripping) or low (frames, rockers, wheel wells). Only a few desert 60s have I seen without any paint or rust. Seems that if you are in a rainy climate, look high. Cold climates should look low.

Your pics denote what most here would call "rust free"

Second last photo - looks like some rust through in the floor reinforcement? Overall it looks pretty nice though.

Also - I'm not that familiar with 62's - but is that really how the exhaust is routed?

You pulled that trigger! I see the better half with be happy with the Freeborn color. Looks like you found yourself one that looks pretty good down low. FARMAN33 is right also, look high also. Hope my info helped, have a great time with her.

Damn, I'm jealous of your rust (or lack thereof) - but it does seem you have little bit of an oil leak on the front main/oil pan area. Not a showstopper by any means, perhaps a point of haggle though.

hey Marc!

Totally got “catfished” on this one. He marketed as totally clean body with no rust and called to chat with him to make sure that was the case before making a couple hr drive. A couple huge holes off the drip rail and bondo spots where rust

Oh well, the hunt continues! She's out there. Don't get in a hurry. Your patience will pay the most dividends in this whole process.

P.s I know where a BEAUTIFUL (truly) rust free 62 lives! @houstonfj40
