just to add to the confusion, copy and past from Trail Gear site:

What R&P do I have in the rear axle of my 95-04 Tacoma?

If you have 6 lug wheels and a factory E-Locker, then you have an 8" R&P.
If you have 6 lug wheels and you do not have a factory E-Locker you have an 8.4" R&P.

That's the way I always understood it to be!!!!!! Ill listen to you trail gear and my gut on this 1 lol stupid ppl... And I read all that on pirate lol called the 8.4 myth lmao ppl are stupid.

Going back to my post about GMP, is there anyone who's got flexibility on the dates at the last minute? If the weather looks crappy Jan 2-5 but pretty good for the following weekend when GMP has the bunkhouse open, would anyone be able to push back a week?

could? Yeah. But, I suspect I'm one of the few and even then I'd REALLY rather not. I like starting the new year off by focusing back on work and taking the first Friday of the year off would be counter productive.

It wouldn't be too easy for me either in all truthfulness; just asking cause I'm really bummed about having to pay the WR prices without buying the season pass. I guess I could buy the season pass anyway in hopes I'll get back at some point in 2014. But that'd only be needed if I was bringing a rig of my own. hmmm

Oh well, January 2-5 at Windrock it is. Maybe Mother Nature will be kind to us since it'll be my last ride.

i cant think of many problems that could occur during the axle swap, so I'm planning on coming.
Where are the cabin rentals at windrock? i think that would be better than the back of the truck, even if im sleeping on the floor.

I can see where the price is undesirable but would you really get back here in 2014 to justify the season pass, I have my doubts. :bang: I was kinda hoping the schedule would allow for the previous weekend so I could use my 2013 one final time but oh well.

Well i knew how much you were looking forwards to seeing 80 width axles on Woody :flipoff2:
And i may be driving a different toyota up at windrock this time (knock on wood) :bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Most comprehensive collection of Toyota Differential info that I have seen, I have it bookmarked.

http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/diffs/

Quote from above:

"All 2wd and 4wd T100's, '00-06 Tundra's, and ?? Sequoia's use a newer/stronger 8" 2-pinion diff. Tacoma 4x4's and Tacoma PreRunner's that don't come with the electric locker (aka "non-TRD), as well as V6 Tacoma 4x2's also came with this diff."

It goes on to say that the ring gear does measure 8". Has some beefier other components built into it.

uhh oh here we go again lmao well this adds to the confusion lol ill know for a fact this weekend bc im gonna measure a 8.4 ring gear outta my rig so we shall know soon enough lol. thx tho jynx i like all the info i can find nice site..

I have started running across info that calls them 8.2" ring gears. So how in the heck do you differentiate between 1/5 of an inch on a ring gear (8.0", 8.2", 8.4")? Because the toothed side of the gear is taller than the solid side and could easily make up that much difference in height. SMH!

Do we have any kind of tentative head count yet IRT the cabins needed? If we have more than 7 or 8 people, it could be cheaper per person to try to get one of the bigger cabins vice two bunkies. Would also be be MUCH roomier I think.

There is some discussion of now combining the ride from the TN guys to this one possibly.
My :princess: is now talking about doing something that weekend so I am still iffy.

i may have a winter break job soon so i might not make it... again :flipoff2:

Would be great but the 2 rides are apples and oranges, doubt it's gonna be combined. STLCA guys will be doing an exploratory expo ride about 20-30 miles from the windrock campsite and will like be getting even further away each day. We are renting a cabin in the WR campground where we will be returning to each evening...hopefully. They will be running very moderate trails, we will not.

you're starting to get a reputation :flipoff2:

You mean we arent gonna be doing the windmill trails?

I guess I should probably modify my truck a little bit more so I dont sustain any body damage :flipoff2:

might I suggest a wax job before leaving?

Seriously Andrew-- The STLCA guys have an agenda for their ride and I'm sure they have no desire to hang out near the campgrounds, it would be counterproductive to what they are trying to accomplish.
