Gauging interest in a New years ride @ Windrock or Golden Mountain. I already have a cabin reserved for Windrock with 3 of the 4 beds spoken for and working on a bunk house reservation at Golden Mountain for the same time. Venue will be determined by the weather the week of.

I'm aware the STLCA guys will be at Windrock (actually Royal Blue) doing their expo run but I aint sleepin in a tent in January in the mountains, already done that this year and I ant doin it again.

Edit: Not trying to compete with the STLCA ride, this one has been quietly on the docket since about July.

any takers? Could be a redo of the Sept ride.

now why would you not want to sleep in a tent in the mountains in january?
Anything to do with that snowy trip of yesteryear?

I would be interested, but depends on if it snows or how much people snore.:hillbilly:

Snow at Windrock would be pretty dang cool. I will talk to mamma and see if that'd be ok with her. And if you guys come to GMP then I feel I will have to come just because of the proximity rule!

We plan on making this trip as well...

If plans go well ill have my r&p fixed and be there ready to go. My other option is to weld lee's diff slap sum sliders on and go lol... Hmmm never mind that ill be in my rig or ill never get to drive ;)

My wife says i snore but she's a habitual liar. :flipoff2: Beware we won't be taking the scenic trails.

Cool, get it on the schedule!! If Zack (southerntaco) and Lee in fact show up maybe you guys can get a honeymoon cabin. I'd call to see if there are any left.

umh, yes and no. It snowed on us last year the last day and made for a pretty miserable evening. We ended up having to winch 5 rigs up a 50 yard long hill that took 3 hrs. It was cold and wet and by the time it was done we were all ready to get the hell out of there. I think this is the only pic of the tribulation taken shortly after the snow started. That hill is far steeper than it looks.

You stole my response Ted!

The heat works on the drivers side, but not too much on the passenger side...didnt know this till the ride and Steve was my passenger :meh:

Having the windshield there helps a lot too...

It was a fun trip lol still got that mirror as a reminder lol

Well after a little researching and pricing I don't know if we will make the ride this year and if we do it may be in lees open open truck idk that's worth it... My diff or r&p is gonna be 500 and up less I can find a private person parting out gears over 500 a scrap yard diff 500 gears from Toyota 900 :0

I'd prefer GMP if the weather ends up being not too wet. Much more wheeling can be done in a shorter period of time, its closer to get to, and the "cabin" would be MUCH bigger. And, if everyone wants to join in, the cabin rental would be extremely cheap. The bottom of the bunkhouse is two rooms: One has a king bed as well as the queen/full bunk setup like the upstairs rooms along with some extra floor space if needed, and the other room is a large open room with space for 10 on the floor spaced out or 20-25 packed in. So even if the whole dang club showed up we could fit everyone in [on the floor] and only be outta pocket like $5/person.

WR certainly would get the vote if the precipitation levels are going to be significant though. At least there we always have the option to drive around on gravel roads and see some cool views. Like last time when we literally drove up into the "frost zone" on the way to a trail.

Is that what that first picture of the icy trees was?

Keep lookin Zack; that's outrageous pricing. You can find complete E-locker rear axles for 500-600 sometimes. You outta be able to find an open axle or chunk for less than $300 I'd think. Or, if you dig REAL hard, you could likely find someone who's got stock gears layin in the shop collecting dust from a gear swap for CHEAP. If you can't post up on Hardline yet, tell me exactly what your diff is and I'll post up a "wanted" ad. I can do the same on TTORA if needs be.

BTW: I just found an E-locker complete rear w/4.10's for $550obo. Won't help ya much cause it's in Cali, but just sayin...

x2

I have found 2 whole front axles for an 80 for less than $300 each. You are bound to find a rear chunk for a mini for cheaper. In my case I bought the whole axle and parted the thing out to pay for the part I needed. Broaden your search and you will find something...

For $500 you could almost buy an 80 elocking chunk...

8.4" or 8"? I have 3 4cyl 8" diffs with 4.10s in the garage right now.
