Thanks! What is the current plan for the ride? Is everyone camping and making this a 2-day trip, or is this a single day/night adventure?
Most r camping but some may be leaveing sat nite. some of us my be staying sunday nite as well

Andy,
Would a for-the-day only option be viable? I know it is a tremondous burden to escort people out so I am good with 'no'. Being able to join in for the day is a long shot for me right now, but it would be great. If it is possible on your end, then I have a goal to work towards.

Thanks
Come on up larry we'll work something out. Like Cam said it will give us a good reason for a light ride.

Thanks. Now to finish the engine swap on the BJ. Most of it is done, but I have a few nagging items that just won't stay fixed. Plus fix the Exploder so it will be ready for the kids to take back to school, and knock out the honey-do list (that has been building while I have been working on the BJ) so I have a chance of getting a kitchen pass from the :princess:.

Yes and no that is the addy to the parking lot that used to be a building across from the shop.

ok, just checking if it was the same place I showed up the last time....when it was "cold"..

That's what Elbert did last year, and I believe is doing this year. We just made a night ride out of escorting him out.
.

Most likely I will not camp as sleep apenia and camping don't mix very well. I've been looking at options regarding the CPAP device and power sources. I do have a generator now, but doubt that it would be reasonable regarding the sound., even though its a Honda. I've read where some units allow battery power.

I don't want to be a burden on anyone...as far as taking a lot of time running me back to the pavement. Last time we were up on that ridge at nitefall and I did not want to drive back 1.5 hrs back through teh rocks to get to camp and then however long to cross the river and back to town. So I left up "there" wherever that was..I will say my GPS was not very helpful on the paved road in that rurual area...I ended up just heading downhill whenever the option presented itself.

I have a guy lined up to install my Power Trax locker back in the rear diff and a aussie locker in the front...but I'm sure its not going to happen by end of the year as I have been waiting now for about 3 months. "never gets in a hurry on most anything" but does a great job and is flat out honest. So I still have the limited slips in the front and back which make some of the rock stuff a challenge.

So anyway...If its workable I'll show.

I'd be very interested in also attending from Atlanta if anyone (Larry, Ted?) is planning on being back Saturday night or Sunday afternoon and doesn't mind a passenger. Wish I'd seen this thread earlier as I just transferred duty stations to Memphis and maybe coulda just carpooled.

I'm tentative on being there, planning for it but can't quite commit just yet. The wife's bone cutting project got postponed till mid next month so that's good news.

Steve...I'll keep you up to date as best I can and you're welcome to ride along but looking like mid week before I know for sure. I think you're in woodstock, we could meet at the Flying J in Resaca off I-75 and would probably be coming back Sunday afternoon.

BTW-you got the red bucket of rust fixed yet, hurry up would ya!

Ted if you go,may just go also.Last time I broke a napa cv now I got 2 oem spares :grinpimp:

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: holy crap, you're such a tease. you pop you're head up every few months and then go back under ground! :flipoff2: I sent you an email a few months ago but it must've fallen into a black hole.

will know for sure later in the week..., in the mean time we had a little fun yesterday in the snow.

Anybody going on this ride have a spare short side rear axle for a 60/62 (in DD condition) that they want to trade for cash?

Mine is getting chewed up at the bearing...

Is it the same as a 40 short?

screw it, I'm in.

Edit: just re-read the thread, I'd definitely be interested in an earlier start if possible but that's up the trail leader. i can make to your place by 9:30ish CST from ATL if need be. I assume the usual area, north or south entrance?

Marius--you still interested?

who's staying Sunday night? might leave my options open for a Monday return but won't make the decision until game time.

It sounds like the 40 short will work if it's a '73 or newer. I think the older ones use a different axle bearing.

I have one, will bring to ride.:)

:bounce2:Everyone- I will be cooking a large pot of Confederate Bean Soup and corn bread for the group on Saturday evening. :bounce:

Rob and I and I believe Bob are planning on camping both Saturday and Sunday nights.
