The panel I priced earlier in this thread had the heated wiper positions.. but not the 16+ gizmos other than rain sensing wipers.

I imagine the adaptive cruise and/or lane departure safety systems are different on the newer ones but who knows!?
Yep.

Anyone replace their front windshield in the Seattle area? Any recommendations on a shop, preferably somewhere on the Eastside?

Finally got around and called around a few shops; generic windshield is ~$500, and OEM ~$1100, with OEM on backorder.

Toyota got me for $450 for calibration.

Never on the LX but many times on my other cars. Shop is:
CarTech Autoglass
It is in Lynwood/Edmonds. Don't know if they do mobile.

Does 2015 LX need the recalibration? I don’t have lane assist, and am not sure if the automatic distance control is camera based or a radar sensor in front grill…. What else might need a recalibrate?

Anyone in PHX area got tips? I use Blue Diamond near me for chips, they have been good, but open to other tips for full windshield.

No it doesn’t.

I couldn't get insurance to pay for OEM - but I could pay the difference from generic to OEM. They (USAA) insisted the generic was of similar quality. 3 months later got a bad chip in that one that is right in the driver's line of sight and visible after the repair.

That's a bummer that USAA wouldn't pay for OEM, not what I want to hear as we just moved over to them from Germania.

That is interesting because they did pay for OEM with my windshield and sunroof. Maybe glass only coverage is different as mine was a comprehensive claim that included glass?

Eastside Auto glass in Issaquah is great, the did my 100 twice, they do the work for Michaels Toyota…. I need a new one for the 200 but have yet to pull the trigger….

For LCs needing to replace the front glass... It may be an opportunity to ask for acoustic laminated glass from the LX?

Both windshields are the same - they both have acoustic layers and share part numbers across model generations.

The front windows are different on the Lx - as you know they’re double pane.

Would be good to figure out for sure and this was a hack on the 100-series.

As I understand it, they do not share part numbers as Lexus glass is very clearly branded as Lexus (that in itself does not necessarily imply acoustic). There should be some markings on it to tell. I don't believe I've seen any reference to acoustic glass on LCs, but definitely could be wrong, or the LC got it in later years?

Regarding part numbers, which still doesn't clarify anything other than it's more complex than meets the eye. Maybe pictures of the marking on the glass could help?

This may be one of the instances where the parts diagrams complicate things. At my go-to toyota parts site the same part number comes up for a 2013 LC and LX, but if you punch in a LX VIN you pay an $80 “L” tax.

When you say "Dealer Glass Shop", you mean the actual Lexus dealer? Because that is the address you listed. Got a rock this morning to my LC 2018 here in Houston and need a quote. Have not called insurance yet. Tks

He subs out of the dealership, he does work both there on site for repairs done through the dealer and on off-site (around the corner really) for those you book through him or that aren’t Lexus products.

Thanks. I assume you went the latter route, since you have an LC. How is it holding? Did you get OEM glass?
