what carb is on it Jeff?

OEM right? know what year though? What problems are you having?

'74 F engine and carb as far as I know... starts fine when choke is pulled.

idles down only when you 'kick it down' AKA tap the throttle, idles OK for a minute, then dies. If you accelerate and let off, it idles above 1000RPM's until you tap the throttle, idles down, then dies... if you pull the choke at operating temp, it runs really rich, and it seems to run rich with the choke in as well.

Looks grrrrreat  Jeff...Am looking forward to seeing the "45" at FC

steering pics

John did a great job on the steering. Consists of a new saginaw 4.25 to 1 box, new GM pump, hand made beefy rods with J62 steering knuckles and tie rod ends, allpro hysteer arms, etc.

Notice the close clearance between the frame and the drag link:doh: need to drop the bumpstops to ensure no contact:beer: since it is SUA the rods are closer to the frame versus the SOA and crossover steering end result.

It makes the 37's feel like they are not even there when turning. I am glad I went with the saginaw versus the minitruck PS.. more power and the relay rod down the frame is not used so I have full turn with the tires and 2" BS rims without rub (at least on the frame ;))

Sounds like the idle solenoid ground may be bad. Did you check for that solenoid click when the ignition key is turned? You can check that with a bypass wire.

What happened to your brake backing plates?

Did John sleeve the hole in the front xmember? Looks schweeet.

well?

Jeff, how did the 45 wheel at the crawl? damn that bed is long.
RC last weekend, did 13 and your fav 16, also 20, and boot hill.

Well, I only wheeled it to the camp area at the fall crawl.. I rode with a friend and even drove his 55 : ) go figure... the 45 is now in semiretirement mode. My plan is to swap the minitruck knuckles and rods and arms onto the 45 with the saginaw..... and mount the highsteer and beefy rods and 62 knuckles onto the minitruck wheeler. Other things to do:

-remove body lift (reattach exhaust
-install a newer Toyota engine (who knows what type)
-rust repair, paint, interior
-Order a Pakistan made bed cover and bows so it has a soft canvas roof line high canopy
-find some old rims and hubcaps (I know, good luck)
-drive it around town and use it as a pickup should be used, to pick stuff up : )

Were do I get in line for my etchin...:D:D:D

It took me a while to figure it out, but I believe your Picaso-like etching is from an old Downey catalog, Jeff. If my memory serves me correctly they even offered it on a t-shirt at one point?

But then you'd have to be as old as me and Gary to remember something like this... :~)

How was boot hill? I haven't seen anyone do that yet.

I was on that at CM I think. Won't run that again. No sireee bob.

When I get the new one put together I'll run it with you.:)

Pretty sad. You've been posting a while now and I only just realized you live in the same town. Wow Am I getting slow.
