Its all torqued down, just got to finish installing the carb and linkage, and some new fuel line so I can warm it up and retorque.
tomorrow I need to find a new carb spring so it will return to idle.

Got it all back together, warmed it up and retorqued it all. Got the carb adjusted and working nice as well. Then noticed I was getting liquid on me reaching under the brake master. So now I have one of those ordered. Maybe I'll get it done one day........

While I was changing the master, I figured I better fix this front brake line also. It was a little short, and had been rubbing on stuff. Had to chop the end off so it works with the union. And

I might as well put a clip on the end so it's no longer floating!

Front fitting was done, and it unscrewed really hard. Time to fix it. Cut the very end of the line off and replace the fitting. The rear line will need different surgery to fix.

off to find a union to lengthen the other line. one day I'll make up a whole new line but for now gotta just replace the compression junk, and green line.
the master is a 90 4x4 truck one. theres no proportioning valve in this, which is odd, but it was working ok with front disc rear drum, so I guess I'll leave it for now. when the rears act up I'll just swap it to 4wheel disc with a supra master and prop valve.

Then I played around with getting back to original paint. Tried Goo gone graffiti remover but it didn't work good enough. Then I tried a razor blade gasket scraper. Works good on the flat areas. Still looking for a better solution.

While it was inside I started doing a little paint removal. Watching to get the black off, and get back to the original light blue. Got the nose done ok. Also put in the new Toyota headlight kit. Just gotta do something with the power wires. They're to small to go to the battery ends.

I would love to have it a painted nice, but for now I'm gonna fix a few things and let her drive it awhile. one day I'll fix the rust at the rear corners and paint it nice. I think it was actually horizontal blue originally, since its a 74.... anyone know for sure?

Mines a Nov 73 build but considered a 74 and it’s the original color code. I would pull the gas tank cover and see what the side that faces the tank looks like.
When I had my cruiser scanned for a color code I had scanned on the gas tank cover underside since it was out of the elements.

As ToyotaMatt (RIP) would say, “This is the way”.

I'm no authority by any stretch, but this chart shows Horizontal Blue being used on the '65 model year only.

When you say RIP regarding Matt are you referring from him being no longer on the form?
Yes, his presence here is resting in peace?
He’s alive and kicking as far as I know, his shop is still up and running.

Maybe that was a poor choice of words.
