My thinking is that the customers that want heavy offroad type modifications won't need as much convincing evidence of your work. Its the more moderate customer that will appreciate a solid resto-mod. And if you plan to daily drive it and use it for parts pickup, a lower stance will be easier on the knees and back.

If you want cheap, reliable, and efficient I'd say go Isuzu 4BD1T and H55, quite a few guys have already gone that route here on the board. More power than a 2F, 25mpg, and quite/smooth compared to the domestic diesels. But honestly if the 2F runs good leave it alone and rock out with a nice stock reliable 60
