Well I made the leap into a mess of a pig after trying unsuccessfully to buy a pretty one. Actually I bought two, a 78 and a 74. This is the prettier sister!! I haven't introduced her to my friends yet and only call her past midnight after I've had a few.

Congrats on it!! There'll be the day when she looks soooo much better and you'll remember when the others laughed. But you'll have the last laugh since you'll have the badass ride of ATL!

Honestly I don't know for certain on the perch will have to go look. And yes, a dreaded sunroof! It won't win any trophys when I'm done with it but hopefully it will be a fun family cruiser that the kids enjoy making memories with. It is however very solid and based on my limited pig exposure not very rotten or at least a lot better than most I have seen.

Welcome woodman.
I envy your windschield rubber.
Much work to come.

good thing the tires are chocked!

Like nothing else on or off the road.

Welcome to an exclusive club.

And goodbye to boring unoccupied time. Good occupation for a single...

Admittedly I don't have good sense, Married with a 5 yo, 3 yo and #3 on the way. I don't think I know what idle time is. Every day is a blink so yeah, this project makes perfect sense! I did my forty 2 years ago, never working on it in the light of day. 9pm-midnight I play with tools after the littles are tucked in. I figure this will take a decade, any thing short of that will be a bonus. More pics/good pics will follow. Perhaps my son will know how to weld before he can read

It does give meaning to "work in progress".

It never ends.

Eventually, your kids do get to drive it.

My youngest came camping and wheeling when he was 5. Started driving about 12.

It's something we still do together. Nothing better than memories of good times with family and friends.

Often, it is not the destination which is important, but to travel and the way you travel. Espescially if it becomes a shared project.
