Quick question I am picking up a set of re-arched FJ 55 Springs and curious if there is a driver side and a passenger side like some of the old man emu Springs

Also, this is around a 2 1/2 to 3 inch lift what would be a good shock to go with these ?

Would be putting on 33 x 10.5 x 15 BFG Tires
Would definitely have gear in the back for some overnight trips, but majority of the time would be fairly empty with maybe some tools for a round town so not really driving it around super loaded and definitely not using this as a rock crawler more of a reliable Overland truck for camping fishing easy Moab trails, etc.

And last question do these utilize the same bushings as a FJ 40?

Sort of...
IIRC, the spring pin on 55 rear springs is off-set front to rear, not centered. But I forget which end is longer
Different bushings than a 40 naturally, otherwise it would be too easy.

x2 on the different bushings.
Kurt and the guys at @cruiseroutfit have a set for you.
I'm sure if you call them they will tell you the difference btwn the 40 and 55 bushings.

The 40 uses two bushing variants, 15mm/25mm and later the 18mm/35mm (which is shared with the 6x/7x.

The 55/56 uses a 18mm/30mm.

We offer them single, 12-pack or 24-pack in rubber and full poly kits too!

If I was at the shop I could share our spread sheet that has all the other random Land Cruiser bushing dimensions and their flange specs too 😀

The 55 size bushing does get some use on 43/45/45 rear springs.
