I would say thats a lc2 convert, something like what I am doing. The front has changed due the fact the 1pz has 5cylinders, so the standard front end is too short. In my case mine is a 4cylinder engine so does not need to be changed.

Did you see the BJ74 for sale?

The year 1986 seems a bit suspect!! So expect this vehicle using a swb geram (reg doc).

Ya I think all MWB 70 series is using SWB geran. Removable top is rare! I had only seen one in Sabah.

Hey, the owner style of converting it to 1kz dashboard, chrome grill & 1HD engine make me think of Wong :D.

1k dashboard is far more presentable than the square concerned unit. 1hd does for Wong's style haha.

Best part is the removable rear top....very handy.

Don't you think 1kz dashboard is too sexy? :p

It is indeed very practical. Moreover the foldable windshield, makes hunting easier. :D

:) Nothing can be too sexy.

So I note you are planning some modifications for and in the event you ever own MWB73. You will need a perch protruding from the front grill. For observations, a crows nest mast in the rear quarter.

I would imagine the 1HD engine to be very smooth and comfortable...has Wong seen this?

Here comes a question. How did he mange to mate the light duty auto transmission to 1HD?

Oh I'm saying that how did he mate 70 series transmission to 1HD. 80 series transmission are different right? The low gear is on the opposite site. What are the other differences between them?

You should be asking Wong this question, a little out of my knowledge.

If the gearbox is auto then it must be a one for the 1hd. The gearbox maybe the original from the MWB, assuming the engine was a 13bt.

In tne case of this vehicle its very difficult to know the original state; imported whole car? Body only imported? Etc etc.

The 4" lift suspension is sitting in the rear, 4 shocks, 4 coils and a steering centre return spring.

The engine was started today! Before the CNY holidays!

By the way cool engine sound!

Aussie brand.

The engine was very quiet considering no exhaust, but it was only at idle.

sorry about annoying , but I have a question about replacing 1kz engine to 1uz v8 engine on my 1995 long wheel base land cruiser prado ( kzj78 ) , is it easy to fit my truck ? and should i change my old auto transmission ?

If i want to change my auto trans to manual on , should i change the trasfer case ?

I will answer this as no one else has.

The 1uz will fit in the kzj78 without any major hassles, maybe the engine mounts will need to be changed. The auto gearbox should be good enough and check its a 341.

Do a search on 1uz there's a few threads on installing into 70 series.

Do he need to facelift front to hzj77 face so he could have more space? hzj77 face is longer I think.

Thank you Gotoy for answer ~ that's make me happy :hillbilly:
so , I should find a good case 1UZ engine

thanks again , and I'll do the search

Is there more room in a kzj78 than a hilux? It can get pretty tight in them, not much room for the fan
I think there's plenty of room in a HD 70series front end
