Under 5k is reasonably cheap.:)
But have to be used part from Japan then is considered cheap, not used by local.
Majority of the JDM box are vacuum shifting- 95%

I'll have to revisit this gearbox and confirm what it is.

Thanks for the info.

A friend here has a 60 with a 12hz inside, but claims using the original petrol engined gearbox, non vacuum. This story also seems a little strange to me.

Gearbox is H55F and is non vacuum. So this is what will be used.

Ordered Exedy clutch should arrive by end of the week.

Should have some good piccies in a few weeks.

depending on its final use but the 4.88 from a LJ would work nice
or
are not the factory diffs 4.11? if so then they will work fine.
Still awaiting the 15B engine and turbo. 60 series gearbox, think its H55F, sorted.

Anyone can advise on R&P size? I believe 4.56 would be most efficient at 35" tyre size.

If I am not mistaken the factory diffs are 4.3, as this was an auto model. Plan is to test on the factory ratio and decide from there.

I also need to start deciding on what suspension setup, especially for the front. 80's spring and shocks will be best.

i REALLY like the dobbinson springs kit on my LJ78 and LJ71 trucks. smooth ride, good articulation, excellent quality.

I agree with crushers, Dobinsons are great as are Ironmans. I wouldnt recommend 80s springs and shocks. Very harsh ride, not the right spring rate etc for the lighter LJs. Although may be different with the 15B... Cool build. :D

To update.

Fuel pump and turbo are completed. Overhauled and tuned. Both should be arriving from KK (Kota Kinabalu, Sabah) in a few days. Manifold too.

Next piece in the jigsaw is the clutch, arriving sometime 1st/2nd week of October from Oz.

After the arrivals the engine and gearbox can be installed.

Suspension.

Decided to await and see how the stock suspension drops.

The garret turbo arrived but still awaiting the fuel pump.

What is the model of ur fuel pump? how much does it cost?

15b fuel pump, the one which came with the engine. I dunno how much they cost individually.

I checked the dobinsons site and from showed for lj and kzj does not seem heavy duty enough. Front springs only rated for an extra 50kg. The extra engine weight is more than 50kg.

Exedy clutch has finaly arrived from Oz..but its stuck in customs for import tax assessment. Hopefully out tomorrow.

Can we argue that it is a gift from a friend from aus? Is it reasonable?

No chance i would say.

I have had 2 ARB lockers hand carried from Oz before and no tax was charged at the airport; KLIA.

KLIA = Kuala Lumper International Airport,Malaysia.

Pics please!:hhmm::hhmm:

Yes yes...not forgotton:p

Not much to see on the piccies of fuel pump and turbo but here they are as seen today.

Well thats it for now. If the clutch is out of customs the next set of piccies just may well be with engine mounted.
