So after working on the 42 for just over 3 years a bylaw enforcement officer comes to the house yesterday and says"Whats under that there tarp boy" I said it just covering a big hole that i throw money into sir. He didn't like that answer and being one of those edgamakated fellers that puts all these letters after his name he said "You can't fool me boy that looks like a Jeep under there" With a fancy business card and letters after his name he must of had more schoolin than me so i didn't want to get into a pissin match about the difference between a heep and a 42. It turns out i was in serious violation of bylaw#166.32-7 an unlicensed motor vehicle parked forward of the front line of the residence and subject to a heavy fine, castration and deportation. Being a law biden citizen and not wanting my good name plastered on the front page of the local paper i rushed right out and got me some insurance stuff and real license plates and took her for a run. I gots to remember to keep my big mouth shut when drivin around with the windshield down cuz i swallered some mighty big bugs.

That must have felt great! .... I was wondering how long before one of your neighbors would phone the bylaw fellas... I never got away with anything that long... except at the place on Doney... those neighbors were great ... brought beer over and helped me at 2 am when I was getting ready for a run once.

Right on. Good timing too. Bylaw men are horrible little robots aren't they.... perhaps he was on his way to your neighbours. Looking at that last picture he has a nice domestic lawn ornament on his grass.

My newest neighbour is slowly collecting bits and peices of construction equipment around the back of his house (the side I see). I like it because he wont complain about my construction equipment around the back of mine! Its good to have good neighbours but I imagine its better to have no neighbours.

The 42 looks great. Are you keeping the black rims?

Those are 60 rims but i would like to find some stock grey rims with hubcaps. There is a rumor going around that Seapotato might have some so i might bribe him with some Toshi approved Lucky Lager.

Sweet. I was hoping you were going to say that. I too love the stockers with hubcaps on a truck like yours. Next time I'm in your neck of the woods Ill drop by, I have to see this thing in person.

There is a set of 5 rims kicking around, but not a complete set of hubcaps.

I think they still belong to Abel (tootall) though, so it's him you'll have to bribe.

I would love to get them out of the goat barn , so bribe away. :grinpimp:

Truck looks great btw, not many things as satisfying as that first test drive eh?

I will take those rims do i pay you money/beer or Able?

That first drive was great with no top or doors and windshield down and the diesel rattling away everyone stares and women pull their children off the street. You feel like you want to wave at everyone and hope that somebody you know drives by.

Excellent work Vern, looks awesome!! I like the look of the old stock rims and caps, but the factory ones you have on look good in white also.
Feel free to start on mine if you find yourself itching for something to do...:hillbilly:
Cheers!

I'll send him a pm about them. I'm not really sure if they were a loan or involved in a trade I've forgotten ...but as far as I know they belong to him still...

After i quaff half of the 24 how do i get home or do i spend the night in the goat shed. I guess i could pull a Toshi and do a midnight hunt in the neighborhood in search of the perfect garden gnome or a flag from the 9th green.

42 looks awesome... That bylaw sucks.. I used to just put storage insurance on my junk when it was sittin ... 30 a year but it was insured

Roof Top Tent!

Last time I slept under my truck with a collection of golf flags...

Dont forget the big puddle of puke.... I assure you, no one else has. That was some funny sh*t.

Seeing as how my post has been downgraded to puddles of petrified puke i thought i would add some tech.

-I didn't cut many corners on this resto but one i tried to get away with was the hood hinges. There was some play in them but i thought compared to my 40 they are not bad. Wrong again. When the mighty 3B was idling there was this knocking sound that stopped when i put my hand on the hood, turns out there was no bushing in there it was metal on metal. I tried for a year to get a used set then bent over and took it like a man from Mr Toyota. The good news is when i got the old hinges off i found that the center pin is the same diameter as the door pins and i had an extra set with bushings that i installed and now have two complete sets that i painted beige for the 40 and red for the 42

Lookin good. You can always get oiliite bushings in town... Just need to drill the hinge out a hair (especiiallly good for worn hinges) and then file for a perfect rattle free fit.:D
