Hey all debating if I have to pull my transmission. Brand new H152F installed with new clutch assembly throw out bearing and pilot bearing. Less than 1500 miles on complete assembly. Noise goes away with clutch pushed in, comes back with clutch pedal released.
In low range, 1st gear, low RPMs
transmission seems very chattery.

H152f noise

Thanks

@logicbyondreaso had an issue with the OEM throwout bearing. Don't know if it was a similar problem.
Thanks for the reply! Ive searched some videos of "rollover" noise and it sounds almost exactly the same as what im experiencing.... seems like the remedy is a dual mass flywheel to help dampen the harmonics going through the engine into the transmission.

What oil is in it?

What clutch plate, pressure plate, and release bearing are you running? If you have part numbers that would be helpful.
Trying to get them from the guy who put the h152f kit together, I didnt take pictures of the part numbers, they were all exedy I believe.

Here's what I could get from the pictures I had.

throwout bearing was OEM, same with the fork, and fork ball.

I'm going to buy an inspection camera in a bit and look to see if I can see anything obviously wrong with the throwout bearing.

Everything looks fine with the throwout, but comments are welcome. I truly believe its gear "rollover" noise

At some point I might try a different clutch setup, like uniclutch to see if that helps.

So I guess this is a cautionary story for people going to a h152f, behind an FTE, with exedy clutch parts.

Borescope cam images look really good!

I used an excedy clutch in my fzj80 (1fzfe-H151F). The throw out bearing that came with my kit was OEM, but not the right part. Mine was 5mm too short.

I think "roll over noise" is a common complaint with after market clutches. It was talked about a lot in the defunct LCOOL/80SCOOL forum. I think throw out bearing is a common cause, and I guess the reason why exedy use oem bearings.

Adding another datapoint for the H152 swap.

This summer I mated a brand new H152 to a 1HDT. I too have the same gear chatter as the video you posted. Running Red Line MT90

This is great! Especially for those who may be interested in a swap themselves.

I wish Santa would bring me a H152......
