New to the IH8MUD list - here's a few pictures of the truck!

It's a 1984 Extended Cab pickup on 37" Toyo Open Country MT's, Detroit lockers front & rear, 4"/5" Marlin Crawler springs, triple cases, Bobby Long's, underhood shower, Premier Power Welder, satellite radio, 22RE motor with TRD cam/header, SoftTopper canvas top, Rhino lined bed, custom rear bumper...

Thanks for the HDC links - I ran around briefly with the group back in 98-99 when I started school at UNM the first time. Back then I was driving a 1976 FJ-40.

Final crawl ratio is 240:1 or so - I usually stick in just two cases only but having that third one is really sweet. For big rock areas like we have out here in the West, it's nice to be able to go really slow.

All those gears really break welds off though, so you have to pay attention to how the truck behaves. Had to get an underhood welder for just that problem...

Bushrat - does anybody in HDC have a vehicle that they'll take out yet? Last time I took people out on a run from the group they got scared on the first ledge and I ended up going in alone...

And no, Mr Eklund doesn't count - he only goes out on one trip per year and it's usually undisclosed until it's over.

Ryan confessed to me last weekend that he hasn't had his truck in 4WD in about a year. He really needs to fix that :grinpimp:.

A large group of us were in Moab this last May, so ya, we wheel our junk. We have a very large proportion of 80's, but also 60's and a smattering of 40's and mini's. Go over the HDC forum here at MUD and look around. There were pics from Cruise Moab in May and the Rio Puerco recently.

Personally, I'm still learning how to keep all the rubber on the rock ...

When the rubber stays on the rock all of the time, it's usually because...

1) the truck is parked in the garage (Ryan Eklund)
2) the trail is too easy
3) the truck is overbuilt for said trail
4) the job is getting in the way of the fun

That's what I find at least...
