Looking for the black gasket thing that goes on the right arrow, I plan on removing this whole pipe because there's mold all over it, so whatever I need to put it back in.

Also looking for that hose that attaches, (other circle). Any info/part #/ order for these is much appreciated!

I can sell you one of those gaskets and throw it in with your hose order.
:) PM me

The flapper is in the inlet of the tank. When you have the filler neck off you should be able to look into the tank and see it

How can I check to see its integrity? Should I just order a replacement and assume it can’t hurt to throw it on there, and save time for waiting on parts?

Just stick your finger in there and you should be able to feel it.
It’s just a metal door that’s hinged on the inside of the tank.

It’s part of the tank assembly and not a serviceable part.

Just make sure it opens? Or how far does it need to?

Matt's kit is awesome. I purchased both the vent hose kit and filler neck kit. I also reconditioned my fuel tank and cleaned everything up as well. Matt even sent me the fuel pickup gasket that I forgot to order, outstanding customer service and A+ quality!

Yes they absolutely can. The forward-most one is a little tricky if you have large hands but it’s definitely doable.

@Beehanger Have you looked at any of the Charcoal filter posts yet? If you have high pressure when you remove the gas cap it could certainly be your charcoal canister.

@Rabrownmkiv thanks for posting the pics. This is on my list of PM to do over the winter. Great to have some reference photos.

No problem, I took a ton more pictures of everything if you end up needing any more. This whole project took me about a month of working on it occasional nights and weekends. My truck was leaking diesel from one of the hoses whenever I would fill it up all the way. After dropping the tank, I decided to replace all the gaskets and hardware with stainless steel while I was there. Shouldn't have to drop the tank again for another 30+ years hopefully haha.

Great work, @cruisermatt! I just finished re-furbishing my tank and picking up various Gates hoses to replace all my vent hose pieces from my local shop - but I did just grab the filler hose kit that's on your site. Thanks!

Installed rear bench seat. Pulled speaker wire into place for upcoming Amp and stereo install. Reinstalled kick panels.

Just deleted the canister. Let’s see if this helps…

I WOULD NOT just delete the charcoal canister!!!! Not recommended. AC Delco makes one that is a pretty good fit, and there are ways to try to unbolck the factory one.

I have the replacement… I just couldn’t find clear enough instructions and my principle goal right now is just to get it running!!!
