doing that job today. just making sure it easily opens and closes? what causes flapper to open/close? pressure or the fuel entering?Did you check the fuel tank inlet flapper door??
Is this WITH desmog?Flapper door above, and get the replacement ac delco canister installed. It is pretty simple, but looks confusing with all the hoses. Here are two pics that might help you.

Hey if and when you tackle this gimme a shout. Just in Moose Jaw. Would love to help out/observe/learn/drinka pint.sweet. once i get my bumper fixed i’ll order a set. gotta keep my list organized or nothing ever gets done!!
Just sent a pm for a modified kit with longer hoses to accommodate relocating the evaporator assembly for Wagongear side panel installation.
Found the detail in the thread..... "All the hoses that go from the tank to that bulkhead (what my kit actually replaces, not the ones you pictured)"Thanks for the inquiry. Those hoses are not normally part of my kit. I could get you set up with what you need though![]()
Hey Matt, Just installed these, but when I went to install hose number 5 I noticed there might be a clog on the TANK side of the numebr 5 port. The metal nub that sticks out form the tank and the hose attatches to had something hard keping me from pushing my allen wrench in any further,, not sure what this is-- is there a valve in here or something or should this be a straight shot to the tank? There has always been some discrepancy about the correct sizes of some of these hoses and some are still available from Toyota, but some aren't, and since this is a common replacement item we deal with here we decided to put together a simple affordable complete kit for our shop use and for you all to purchase. The hose is made from high-quality manufactures and the clips are all correct OEM.
There is also a discount when combined with our filler neck hose kit!![]()

60 Series Fuel Tank Vent Hose Kit — CruiserMatt's Off-Road & Performance
This kit includes all six correctly-sized fuel tank/canister vent hoses pre-cut to correct lengths, and all new associated OEM Toyota clips. Several of these hoses are no longer manufactured Toyota, so this takes the guess-work out of this important maintenance and safety concern! Fitment is the sawww.cruisermatts.com
If the smell continues, it’s probably your charcoal canister (clogged). There are lots of threads here on cleaning/replacing it.Replacing the bottom vent hoses tonight. Hoping this gets rid of the gas smell I get in my cab with the car parked. Any other ideas if this doesn’t work?
Already replaced it.wondering now if the hoses are clogged insteadIf the smell continues, it’s probably your charcoal canister (clogged). There are lots of threads here on cleaning/replacing it.
@cruisermatt do you know the answer to this? A clogged metal portion of the fuel tank vent or is there valve in there?Hey Matt, Just installed these, but when I went to install hose number 5 I noticed there might be a clog on the TANK side of the numebr 5 port. Still wondering this.

Do you mean the vent bungs on the tank itself? I guess that they could be clogged. But, if you run a pipe cleaner through them, whatever material is blocking them will fall in to your tank. It's a lot of work to drop the tank based on a guess. I hope that you get it figured out.Already replaced it.wondering now if the hoses are clogged instead
