Alright!! Good productive weekend! Got the frame all painted up with POR, the new exhaust from Manafre in, and the big one...Lifted the body up with my ghetto chain hoist, rolled the frame under and dropped her right down! Had to replace the body mounts and had a head scratching moment on the two rear body mount bolts cause I couldn't figure out how to get to the heads (the old ones broke off when I pulled the body.) but I'll be damned if Toyota didn't put nice little access hatches on the underside of the body to get to those suckers!
Finally started to put everything back on and she's looking like a cruiser now!! Kinda... :)

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted. I've been really busy working on Babe wrapping up loose ends and getting her ready to start back up this weekend. After some good cuss words, some bruised (ego) and busted knuckles I was able to get the OME lift on over the weekend. She's sitting a lot taller than I figured she would. I had to reverse some really shady work done by the PO for the SOA they had done, and deal with a bent spring hanger in the rear driver's side but it's all coming together! She definitely has a stink bug rake right now (heavy/heavy from OME) and measures out two inches higher in the rear. From what I've been able to read on here that should level out some over time as the leafs break in... Hope this to be true!

Last night I finally got the Weber 38 installed and made some serious headway on the desmog! Turns out all my stressing, worrying, reading, stressing, and reading about the desmog was pretty much for naught. Turns out with the Weber and the HEI dizzy I pretty much have no smog components left! I ran vacuum from the "b" port on the BVSV (1) to the EVAP VCV (capped the other port on the BVSV), air cleaner port driver's side to the EVAP VCV, and charcoal canister vent to the same. The lower port on the VCV I assume I just cap as that was supposed to go to the carb insulator?

Also, there is a sensor sticking up on the intake, firewall side of the carb. I'm not sure where this goes and looking back at pre-tear down pics I can't tell if it had a wire leading to it or not...I'm assuming this is a temp sensor of some sort but not positive. Any advice? It's in the first two pictures...

Looking good:). You are correct, that is the factory temp sensor.

Cool thanks 2mountainfish. Should that be connected to something? I vaguely remember reading something somewhere that said the sensor wasn't in use in newer models but once again that is a very vague recollection...

How about my running of the vac lines to the EVAP VCV. Does it even make sense to keep any of that? Any recommendations there from anyone would be great!

And a final question. The open vac tube sticking out to the right of the carb, it went to the old carb (I'm pretty sure to the charcoal cannister) my assumption there is to just cap that but please correct me if I'm wrong great carb gods of Mud! :)

Yeah you should see a green wire that comes out of your firewall to connect to the temp sensor. All 60s have it there, but they moved it up to the thermostat housing for the 62s
