I can get one. It's just a #4 cable from the battery to fender ground lug to the starter mounting bolt. A couple 5/16 eyelet crimps and about 4' of cable.

I think @ToyotaTechnical is working on this

Yessir. I have starter relay kits available. I have them in 2F and 1FZ options. Example below of quality.

In regards to the OP, couple things catch my eyes that I would rec. addressing before you go to a hot shot relay kit:
  • Your battery terminal clamps need replacing. Use some quality OEM clamps.
  • You're missing your battery ground to fender. I would also add a ground from engine to fender. And for over kill - ground from alternator bracket to battery.
  • It looks like you only have battery to engine ground. I would replace this with new due to condition and age.
  • Properly terminate your wires. The open ended wires degrade quickly due to exposure to battery acid gas-off.
  • Treat your battery posts and wet cell covers. I like NOCO spray.
  • Please replace that battery hold down. The jointed hold downs are sketchy and asking for a fire. OEM hold down is solid.

Once this is all addressed, and you still have starting issues, then consider a hot shot kit. One I make, or DIY it.

Best of luck.

This is awesome! I will work on addressing these issues. Will fixing these help with my hot start issue? I.e. I've been driving it to and from work no problem, but if I try to start it when at operating temps, no dice. Apologies for my ignorance in all things electrical haha

It will help, but I can't guarantee a fix without being hands on with your cruiser and a multimeter. Internet electrical diagnosis is educated guessing at best.

Got, no worries! I plan to work on this one evening next week and will report back. Thanks, again!

Following up. Didn’t end up doing anything with the starter. Took your advice and cleaned up wiring and fuseable links. Haven’t had an issue since (knock on wood). Will continue to work on your list. But appreciate the help!
