Greetings All,

I'm Travis and last December I purchased a 1KZ-TE KZN130 Hilux SURF from Japanese Classics. 80k km, 5 spd. She's been a good truck so far but she just started having a cold starting issue. First start of the day, she will crank over more that normal before finally lighting off, but will lope really bad and die. I can get her to run if I hold the gas pedal in. After about 5-15 seconds of running poorly with pedal pushed, she revs and will then run normally.

During the rough starting, she smokes a lot as well. I run a block heater, and the glow plugs were just replaced a week ago.

If anyone can help with pin pointing the issue, or point me to a thread for help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'd jury rig a test light up to your glow plug bus bar and just check its getting voltage / for how long. Might be a crook GP timer.
