I tried searching for this with no luck. I have plans of painting a 40 project Capri Blue. I have gone to my local paint supplier and had them mix up a sample, but it looks a lot darker than what I am seeing from my search attempts. It could just be my computer settings, but I want to be sure.

Anyway, I am hoping someone can tell me the best place to order a color chart that will have an accurate color swatch for Capri Blue.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Brandon.

Thanks. But I have actually gone through those already. I know the code. I just want to check my sample against a Paint Chip.

I went to my local NAPA, gave them the T-310 Capri Blue code, they mixed up a spray can to test, and it was a perfect match.

Do you still have something painted in the original Capri Blue?

Can you post a pic of the sample they mixed up for you? I'm also interested in painting my 40 Capri blue and want to see what your sample looks like. thanks

I don't have anything in the original Capri Blue. I just like the color from what I have seen on Mud and want to paint my project that color. I just have a sample I sprayed out from a mix at my local paint supplier. It just looks darker than what I see online? I want to be sure it is correct.

Like Fast Eddy mentioned, just too many variables in using an online picture as reference. Capri actually has some grey in it.

Anyone at your local club with a Capri blue rig? ...or Capri blue bits??

Surely someone must have a Capri blue rig in or around Vegas...

The variable are what is causing me to question what I have. The grey in the Capri is why I like the color.

I went with your first suggestion and called my local Napa. They sent me to carquest. Carquest can mix me a single stage sample. I am going to go tomorrow and pick up a sample. I will spray it the same way I did my first sample and then compare the two. If they are close enough, then I can stop obsessing about whether I have the right color or not.

Thank you all for the input.

I also like the "grey" in it much like yourself. Please post pics of both colors samples. I just don't want a baby blue 40, I like the kinda robin egg blue/grey colors of 40s I have seen on this site.

Love this color blue, not sure if it a true representation but man it looks good! I would even have to consider reupholstering my 77 seats in coral!

This is also Capri Blue, love this rig too, kinda similar to the other photo I posted. Not my photo hope no offense to me using it.

I had my 40 repainted last fall. Here's a pic of the label on the can. Don't know if any of the info will help. I could ask the guy at the body shop to decipher the numbers if you'd like.

Brandon, does your sample look like the colr from the above color chart? If so I might want that formula!

Hey, nice picture of my wife! :p Oh, and nice picture of my rig!

In that picture, I had repainted. I went to a local automotive paint store and gave them the color code mentioned above T-310. It was Omni paint (cheap), but the color match was pretty darn good to the original color. It was a tad darker, but I'm guessing that was due more to 30+ years of sun damage.

Good luck! I love that color!

My fj40 is capri blue. There is a rustoleum for touch ups very very close to the original color that I used on the back corner of my tub and along the rail. I can get the name tonight. Can't you just test it and if you don't like it have them mix it lighter/darker? I suppose I might be able to dig up a bolt with some paint on it that I could send if absolutely neccessary.

Sorry about using your photo but damn your 40 looks awesome.

Maybe it's the wide steelies, maybe it's the color, but it just looks fantastic. Good news about the paint, think thats the way I'm going even though it won't be "period correct".

I do have to ask, how tall is your wife or do you just have a high lift? Post some more shots to this thread if possible-Thanks!

You can pull off one of the kick vents, wax the inside surface and you have a very good not-faded original sample if it hasn't been painted.

Capri Blue changes a lot in the light. It can vary from a light medium blue to a light blue.
