Hmmm.

Appears to be eminating from this hole?

Everywhere else is dry on the box. @DangerNoodle thoughts?

The hole you are referencing is not a hole at all. It is a gap between the ends of the wire retaining clip for the rear housing end plug.

O ring behind the cap/end plug failed? Or is failing?

Looks like it. We just had a brand new reman one do the same thing out of the box.

I'm starting to think she just doesn't want to go.

Parked it in the shop at work until I get a seal kit on Friday and discovered a new small coolant leak.

Pulled the front bumper off and hunted for an o ring. Only place that was open didn't have anything the correct size.

I'm assuming the o ring is imperial and not metric? It looks like it's a 3" with a 1/8" diameter? I'll measure the housing and the o ring diameter in the morning with a caliper to be sure.

I'll hunt tomorrow when the Case and John Deere dealers are open. I might just go there first as they'll likely have the best selection.
I'm going to stick with my normal operating procedure and buy two. Cause why buy one, when you can get two for twice as much.

Picked these up from the metal shop today. ¾" extensions for the front suspension bump stops.
I need to drill some holes and find some longer bolts.
Cleaned up the edges with the edge sander at work. They were cut on a plasma table, then somebody in the shop got fitshaced and decided to clean them up with a angle grinder.... I like my grind a bit more. 😄

"Smells like a John, runs like a Deere...."

Napa didn't have an o ring, but the implement did. It wasn't quite 100% correct. The outside diameter was a freckle smaller than what came out. I don't know if that is because the old one stretched out, or the absorption of something in the oil caused it to swell, or what. The size of material was spot on.

That end cap was a real pecker to get back on through. Took a little tapping with a mallet to ease it into place, then getting the retainer spring back in made me look like a chromosome was missing.

Back together and not leaking. Ran in a few minutes and turned the wheel lock to lock a few times and it seemed to burp the air out quickly enough.

I had a few things jury rigged pretty aggressively with the light wiring in the front.... When I pulled the front bumper, I had to cut some wires. I decided putting it back on, I'm going to build a proper little harness and route it a little smarter than I had before. Turned out decent. Probably could've been done a little smarter, but I was happy with the result. Everything is pretty well protected. Made my harness so it runs up to where I'm going to mount the separate fuse and relay block under the hood. I should really go use my buddies press and bend up a bracket for that one of these days.

Decided to jump into the radio face plate again. Had to start from scratch, which blows. Trying a slightly different approach than before.

Did a test cut.

I'm still getting screwed on my letters.

I was using a really steep tool for this, but I'm thinking my thinking was bass ackwards, and I want a tool with much less angle.

Turned out tits.

Made a second test cut. Used a tool with much lower angles, letters worked out

Yellow might be a bit much. Probably should've gone white, but I didn't feel like running to town to get different paint pen.

Well done. Retrosound, right? There a reason you didn’t use one of their faceplates?

Correct. Retrosound.

Once upon a time, a young man was walking home from school when a bully stole his school bag and pushed him into a puddle. Walking home, shaking his fists at God, he decided right then and there if the opportunity to hack the piss out of a 40 dash were to present itself, he would execute his appointment with resolute passion.

Or, somebody was just a dumbass.... 😆

Angry beavers lmao. I've had to fix that hole too many times.

I just plas out a retro hole that I made. Fits the retro perfectly and looks really nice and almost stock.

My hole (heh heh) was mangled too. Found a Retrosound faceplate that almost exactly matches the angry beaver teeth pattern.

Mine doesn’t say Land Cruiser in bright yellow, though.

I appreciate the chrome accents. I think it fits the motif better than mine. I'm chewed up above that crease in the dash though.

Boujee is as boujee does. 🤣

I threw your hat in the camper this evening. Make sure to hunt me down next week

Put in my ¾" bump stop extensions in today. I think I'm going to have these remade from aluminum.
Or..... maybe I'll stop being a bitch and get some aluminium tooling for the cnc.
That little chunk of steel weighs about a zillion pounds. I didn't have time to paint them....

Cleaned up the interior, and polished up the outside. Put the cooler rack on.

Since I got the cooler rack put back on, I broke out some stickers.
