Bill,

On the brakes, I always do the master first, if it was empty. Then start in the rear, pass. side first. Move to the driver's rear and then up to the front.

awesome info thank you very much. yes the master and lines are empty i swapped in some disc brakes so i would imagine that i will be going through a decent amount of fluid.

speaking of fluid i bought one of those hand pumps that attaches to the gear oil gallon jug. while pumping the fluid in the pump broke off and is now in the gear oil. so i bought another one. and it did the same thing. so now i have a gallon of gear oil with two nice new little hand pumps at the bottom i just thought that was funny.

i still cant figure out why it wont start. i spent an hour last night with my manual and a flashlight. the PO had made a bit of a mess with splicing wires so that didn't help.

when i turn the key the starter doesn't make any noise, no click ... nothing. the battery is brand new and tested fine and all of the accessories work great.

before i began all of this the it started up strong so im assuming its something that got disconnected. and the pictures i took to document where everything went didnt capture the areas in question.

i'm kinda stumped.

Bill,

I'm no sparky, but I would start by checking at the starter solenoid, got juice, next check all grounds, then if ok, work up to the ignition switch. After that, I get foggy :).

Good Luck!

PS. Don't buy another one of those oil pumps.

i wanted to share my new gauges with everyone.

i got them from speedhut http://www.speedhut.com/ you can build them online it even let me do the logos. they look really good in person and almost fit in the stock holes.

I like those guages! MPH and odometer are done by GPS? Where does antenna mount?

So, does that mean you don't use a speedometer cable and is there any other device you need for this type system? I've seen these before, but really didn't understand how they worked.

Thanks,

correct you do not need the spedo cable for this application. its basically a gps that calculates the mph based on triangulation much like a normal gps would do but the feedback comes in the form of an analog dial.

yes i'm going to try to use the stock panel.

What size did you end up going with? Defineatly curious to see them installed and see how everything goes together. Gauges are something on my to-do list, but not 100% sure which route to go.

i went with the 4.5 inch set. i'll post pics once i get them completely in i'm getting some weird whine in my stereo when i turn on the indiglow lights.

just thought i would share what ive been working on. ive had the interior of the piggy, out for the last 2 months. ive been working all my aux power through a new fuse box and making my new door panels to accommodate the new speakers.

car audio used to be my favorite hobby. upholstery unfortunately was not.

at any rate i know skulls arent everyones forte but i hope some people find them amusing.

What the heck?!? Where all these awesome interior panels coming from?
Did you make those yourself???

yeah i made them all myself. i wasnt sure if people would think the skulls were tacky but i like them.

Tell us more!
Car audio is your hobby?
Any ideas for a speaker that I could just slap up on its magnet on the upper D pillar? Wondering if anyone makes a speaker with an enclosure around it?

back in the 90s i used to compete in IASCA i mostly did the electronics and speaker arrangements i left the finish work to the artisans.

something on the pillar? if the speaker is small enough you could fab something out of fiberglass and fleece.

they do make some low profile sub enclosures however their performance leaves alot to be desired.
