Marshall,

I don't have a filter and I don't have any mirrors either. As for the tailgate, its as rough as the rest and I do have some guts for it in the shed (I did check my plastic gear which is surprisingly good I suppose). I will have to post pics of what I have existing in the tailgate and what is in the shed to ask you guys what I need. I think the biggest problem I have is the metal track for the glass inside the tailgate is just rust and totally frigged.

When you got my situation you really look at amby doors different (in a good way I mean). Thanks for your help. Just let me know what I owe you------dave

Parts from PO's family

Here's a few parts from my PO's family (the PO is deceased)...they just said take this stuff before they threw it out so I have a few more items anyways.

Tailgate Maybe Not so Bad

I guess I thought I was in worse shape than I was...but will still read John's thread carefully to maybe put this together in the future:

I'm seeing some non-Pig parts in that pile...otherwise, looks good.

I'm guessing to the right of the chromed pig and in the upper right hand corner??

Yup.
Look like swing-arm shock absorbers....maybe British?

OK now I understand. These couple of items (including the carb) were under the seat and I threw them in the shot....I need to return the Brit parts to the guy I bought it from. He actually bought the pig from the PO and had plans to do some restor. work and ebay this pig but realized he was never going to get anything done. In his junk yard he has a hull of a Triumph. Good eye guys!!!

First thing I would do is mount that chrome pig ornament front and center of the hood.Where the heck did you find that? I want one.

This Pig Runs Because of YOU

So many of you have helped get this ol 55 breathe again. Help has come from the likes of Pighead, Trollhole, Ige, Eventhough, Poser, N2666, Eric Ellis etc etc........and so many kind words of encouragement from others too. For that I thank you.

The old gal runs but with new life she wants to sleep a little more. Fuel pump went out this week (surprised it woke up since I'm so used to having to replace these first) and now the water pump is following suit. As expected the brake cylinders are now starting to leak (I know, I know...go to disk but this piggie is on a budget). But you know it doesn't matter. Lou outta Tuscaloosa once told me "Dave....just have fun with it....don't let it be stressful" so I just bide my time and do what I can. Just wanted to thank you all. If you're new to the forum....support it and you will find supportive friends in the 55 community!!

Here's a couple of shots of her in my pasture...........

*I've removed the beef tag...just wanted to have a little fun!!

Thanks Steve.....I just can't wait to get it on the road again. I was getting used to those stares that scream "WHAT THE #^&@ IS THAT?";)

So great to see the progress on your pig! INSPIRING! I went through that same phase with mine - the one-by-one replacement of parts. But in between, while you're driving, your love for the monster increases. You come out of the store, search around the parking lot and as soon as you see your pig, damn, you just have to smile.

And it's nice you're letting her sun herself in the pasture a little before calling her back to the stye.

Sooo-EE!
