Georg @orangefj45 has a plan…it’s flat rate…they ship it to a trucking terminal near you..(make sure they have your correct address) and you can arrange to pick up the pallet at your convenience…easy peasy. The pallet is not really that heavy either but a pickup makes it simple. The truck terminal put the pallet in my pickup within 7 minutes and I was on my way home

EDIT: of course you could open the wrapping at the terminal and just place each spring, and the other smaller boxes in the car. Even I could carry them and I have no strength t left

PS. Am I a purist?
100%! I’d love a 1” or 0” option. I installed the 2” version on my rig, feels great, better than the 2.5” OME on my prior 40, but just a touch too tall. Hoping they settle some, or maybe I’ll move around the shims.
 
Wonderful write-up. My leaf springs are OEM from 1970 with a flavor of rust trails and squeaks and shackle drifting BANGS when going over minor road bumps.
Looking forward to learning more and how to purchase from Goodyear AZ... Regional rep for TT parabolic is out of Stockton CA, and I am trying to see how I can swing shipping to a residential house (I am not a business address ) so figuring things out still...

Total weight on my package is 220 lbs. Easy to have forklift into a pickup bed. Another option is to break the pallet down and load/unload individual pieces. Amazingly light springs.
 
Good luck with project spring… mine took 6 days but I don’t have the stamina to keep going full speed for 8 hours a day but, I got it done. I was also in no real rush…mentally yes, physically no. I did 1 corner at a time. Plan on cutting the u-bolts if they haven’t been replace recently and start the penetrating oil on shackle bolts in case. I did use 2 jack stands and a floor jack to raise and lower the spring eyebolt position and close the gaps for the center pin alignment

UPDATE: terrain tamer springs have been a great success in time and performance for my type of road/ trail use. It’s been over 3 months and I’ve been using the 40 so much more for everyday chores, groceries, some dirt trails and highway trips. The ride is great, fun and coupled with those other updates…it is an easy choice to hop in it instead of the diesel Chevy pickup. I have no regrets.
 
So how much lift do these springs provide and do they give more load carrying capacity? Thanks for everyone sharing their experiences with these parabolics.
 
I am sure I have about 2” over stock…maybe 1/4” less but the profile view of the truck looks a touch higher in the rear. I like it, I’m not sure if the load capacity is any different …not one of my concerns as most of my needs were centered around ride comfort …and there is a noticeable difference. I am extremely pleased…if I’d spent $3k for anything less than what I have now regarding change to the suspension…I’d be pissed… but…I am very very happy with the entire set. Thinking of a set for another vehicle in the future
 
Maybe a better visual regarding the ride is this:

You’re driving a path about 20 mph with a couple of washouts or big potholes. The front tire drops into that hole and back out with a solid BANG and a hard bounce out…the seat belt tightens and the seat foam just compressed a1/2” more…

that doesn’t happen now. It’s really a bit more of a controlled compression and release of the spring/shock combo

Besides the parabolic springs I also put on a shackle reversal kit and power steering. Amazed at how much better it is to drive now. Power steering is the best change i have made on this FJ40. Should have done it on all my previous Cruisers!!

What did you do in the rear to me match the 2" extra lift from the shackle reversal?
 
We now have Terrain Tamer suspension on both our FJ40 and our Troop Carrier. In terms of load-carrying, the FJ40 suspension feels about the same as the stock springs, albeit with far, far more compliance. The Troop Carrier was a different story. Ours is significantly modified with a pop top, cabinetry, 71-gallon fuel capacity and 29-gallon water capacity, winch, etc. etc. With the heaviest duty OME suspension it sagged noticeably in the rear with a full load. The TT set Georg specced for us does not; it rides absolutely level.
