It's been slow in the cold for a while...

The lj70 deserved a new waterpump and some new wintershoes.
Adjusted the valves (2L engine) a few was really off, in at 3.8mm, should be 0.35in and 0.36 out.
It needs a new rad also, just started leaking, and the fins are falling apart.
Straightened out the tow hitch with the pto. Check.

Got around to align the toe in on the 60, and tightened up the tre's.
Borrowed two MTR's from a friend, so now i can go where i usually go again.
The MTR's are siped on the center lugs, the MTZ's are siped all across.
Got way better grip on the mtz's in snow, slush and ice. The rubber is just so soft, its a really good winter tire.

Homemade sst for the 2L

Cold morning... Safari?
DSCF1925.jpg

been slow lately, with too much snow and way cold...

but got some things done, afterall...

The OME bushings needed replacing, and this is how i do it:
19012010683.jpg

I put some new grease in all the old shackle bushings a few days before removal, as i was eager to see how it all spread out there, and if it actually pushed out the old grease. No. It did not spread, and it did not push out the old grease.
The wear on the bushings are 1mm every way possible.
As you can see, new grease on the right side, dirt in the middle and empty on the left side. -and yes, i do lift the frame while pumping new grease in...
19012010684.jpg

Here you can see the wear on the shackle plates and bolts, as the grease does not spread around too much...
19012010686.jpg

The holes in the shackle bolts are clogged up with dirt, and does not come out easily...darn... so the grease have just pooped out the first hole.
Now i have other dick cepec shackles for the rear, waiting to be installed. other bolt diameters, so i gotta figure something out there. They will level out the rig.

I also found myself a trailer, nice one!

So now i've got some diesel burnt up, met some good guys, and cruised ALOT of powder!
Three days of playing in the snow, camping in tents, driving the slippy-slope and having fun!

Awsome amount of snow, top 15inches was powder, bottom was more packed.
Waist high snow anywhere. I was in the "heavy truck" league, but with a hard right foot things sorted out.
I miss the front locker for this kind of driving, thats for sure.

Ran on 3,5-6 psi, depending on the snow. Just had to winch a couple of times...

Packing the snow on camp, we're putting 7 tents on this flat:

That was pretty wicked. Why was there a tank there?!?

We were driving in a military training area, and the guy had requested that some tanks should be there to show off, and we could get a ride from the gun-tower. Awsome!
And the smaller cars could have a hard track to run trough.

Small update...
Figured my ome's were pretty dry, so i opened them up, added some lube, and wow, it's a new car... lovely! gotta add that to my service-points.

Got my lovely TEQ-bag from cruisercrap, my little compressor and pressure-gauge fits nicely in there. Great product!

It's been a few months, snow is gone, garage is dry. Trying to get some stuff done, and been wheeling a few times.
After playing in rocks, i figured it was time to do something with the locker issue.

Seems to clear mud really nice theese tires...
23052010950.jpg

The axle needs some work, and need to figure out a cable setup for the acuators.
Probably going with something like a boat-throttle wire connected to a e-brakehandle.
27052010952.jpg

Bolts snapping... this is the sensor for locker light.
27052010962.jpg

I HATE looking into a diff like this...

But i love the fact that all's good with the locker.
