My Half Door Build

Getting ready for the Rubithon and I always wanted some half door. My buddy landcrusher910 made a set 2 years ago for Moab and I figured I had better get going. I got the doors from a parts swap from a Buddy in Iowa ( Thanks Tim ) the bottoms are rusted out but everything else is solid. After borrowing a welder for another friend calstyl2 ( Thanks Rob ) Today was the day. After cutting the doors down I went on a hunt for some angle iron Well being Sunday everythings closed then I remembered tommorow was trash day took a walk up the street and found a junk bed frame PERFECT 2'' x 1 1/4'' Took all day to get the passanger side done and welded up ( GOTTA LOVE GRINDERS ) fixed a few blobs made somemore cuts and Im happy with them Tommorw I will get the drivers side done right now its time for a beer

Once I get them all done I fugure I will just pour-15 the whole door and be done with it.

Made these out of aluminum.. Wanted to use OEM handles but could not make them work. Real pain to get the uper Best top section to fit , but it works. What do you think ?

What are half doors?

Half Doors are the things that keep my wife happy knowing we will be off road for 4 days in June.

Looks Nice Rob,

I am doing the same thing from some old door skins. Here are some pictures of mine.

I decidied to notch them for arm rest's. I used some 1 1/2 square tubing- it was thick and probally overkill- but hey- it's a cruiser.


I will be painting mine this weekend as well.
