Looks Nice Rob,

I am doing the same thing from some old door skins. Here are some pictures of mine.

I decidied to notch them for arm rest's. I used some 1 1/2 square tubing- it was thick and probally overkill- but hey- it's a cruiser:).

Looking good. Good thread. I'm starting on a set for my Dad's 70 and was going to use the lines of my Eshan doors which are alot like yours. My thoughts were to leave the outside a little longer heat and bend it over and weld the seam to the inside panel. Not sure thats best for strength just thinking. I've just gutted them down to the shells and they'e ready for blasting. I'll keep an eye on the progress here

Great to see DIY.

I saw a thread in the FAQ section where someone used muffler pipe bent to make the upper door edge, and it turned out to look really awesome. I am beginning to think that 1/2 doors are in my future.

I think I will go the muffler pipe route as it looked like it gave a nice smooth round comfortable edge.

You guys rock. This is all very motivating!

Thats an interesting idea. I went with a flat surface so I could fab up some wire frames for soft vinyl upper sections later on.

Here are the doors and a luggage rack I put together for the Rubithon Bolts to the roll bar and gives us alittle more space

I built a set a bit ago.My go, flat on top, exhaust pipe on the down slope then flat again to the rear of the door opening.Just used the metal I cut off to fill in the flat parts.Sorry, no pics, but you get the idea.

Rob,

The 40 looks great with the new doors. I have a set of doors I will be doing the same thing. Of all the mods you have done, the horns are the best!!!! What are calling the beast? El Toro, The Water Buffalo, The Yak, Wildebeast? Just kiddin' ya', looks really good :)
