What is the lower boot? Is that the piece that slides over the shift tower on the top of the toybox? If so then yes it is brand new. What is the new bling shifter? I'm already sick of it, it is a pretty good leak and it is definitely originating at the top and dripping down.

Looking good Dylan. Hopefully we'll get a trail run in some time soon.

Well I double and triple checked that it wasn't overfull and it wasn't. It seems to be slowly happening less and less when I drive it. I did add a vent to the side of the toybox, I'm not sure if that helped or not.

After a little bit of wheeling last weekend, everything seems to be working well.

  • Transmission crossmember held up well (Thanks again Matt)
  • Twin sticks work really well and operate way better than factory.
  • I need to bend the outside twin stick shifter (hi-N-lo) a bit from rubbing on the body.
  • Putting the toybox in 4.7 and leaving the split case in hi is perfect and then locking the split case into low is the ultimate stupid low.
  • 5th gear in a SOA wagon is just kick ass with 4.88's in the diffs and 35's

I started working on my crossmember and skid plate setup for the transmission and ToyBox finally . The plan is to include both a transmission and crawl box mount with a 3/16" skin that will be removable from the crossmember. The tubing I am using is 1-3/4" x .120 wall DOM. Hopefully I'll have some updates this week. . .

Here is the base plate for the toybox mount

Looks cool and I'm going to come back and mine this thread for details/ideas.

You have to come to Rubithon.

Sounds nice Dylan. I am interested in how this turns out. This is on my list. I need a skid plate for the toybox and transfer case and want to support the toybox more. If I am able to make Rubicon this year, I want to come in with the wagon run this year.

mini progress this afternoon. . . I was able to sneak over to my friend's house for a few hours and work on it a bit more. I have to work tomorrow, but I think we should be able to get the main frame done on Sunday. This is the piece that will go under the ToyBox and mount to the frame. Man tubing benders are cool, it took some getting used to as far as where to 'start' the bend, but once we had that figured out it was perfect.
