anyone other than me pissed that I dont have a cruiser in my driveway?

good news- and a bit of warning for anyone who is going to buy bilstein shocks for their rigs... Bilstein ships out all of their 7100 series with a 1/2 heim size (the part that goes over the eyelets to mount the shock) BUT our cruisers have a 5/8 eyelet. SO when you order shocks - if you get them from bilstein they can custom make them with the proper eyelet size, but if you order it from eshocks.com like I did, make sure you order the "Prothane" 5/8 Poly bushings. They are like $4 for 2 shocks.

other than that....im currently cleaning the shotgun in preperation of going out to my painters shop!:censor:

Whatever though...as long as it comes out looking like a new car~

keep thinking you are getting the run around on all your painters.... seems like you may have to learn to do this yourself!!!

no kidding....whatever project I end up doing next....im going to have to learn to paint!

Heck, just tell him to finish with the primer and then drop it back off AFTER CM07 :D

That way you won't have to worry so much about that fresh paint job.

wouldnt it be an issue with the primer getting ditry and oily and such?

or were you joking...?

Hey Eli,

There is a certain arrogance to painters for some reason and you always have to stroke their egos if you want a good job, particullary with resotrations.

You'll have to learn patience to get the result you want becasue painters can make more money by completing easy collision jobs.

Late,

UNO

Yes...and no :D

I hadn't considered the issue about the primer getting dirty/oily etc :frown: so I guess that would throw a wrench in the whole idea.

yea thanks for the advice UNO.

I talked to my painter today....He is spraying on a second layer of primer....We are waiting on the hood to get back from soda blasting...which should be on tuesday...and then he said as soon as that gets back, he will finish it.

The painter needs to get your junk done we need pics!!!!

At this point Eli should withhold the official unveiling of 40 for CM07 :)

Those that are there will get to see it in person...Those that aren't, well too bad :flipoff2:

Should be plenty of folks with laptops that could post up an official unveiling picture live from CM07 :D

Wow great idea :grinpimp:

I talked to my painter and it will be done friday!!:bounce::bounce:

But no time to celebrate then...I will have 4 days to get everything finished up..and put 500 miles on the engine for the break-in period! Which wouldnt be a big deal...but 2 of the 4 days I am supposed to go to work...damn.

Allright...so look for a thread titled "Mountaincruisers Official Live CM07 Unveiling" Thread!

That way there will be some nice action shots in there too!

Im a bit worried that I most likely wont have a bumper on for moab...I guess Ill just have to be VERY carefull...I have the MT front nose gaurd and stinger and also a bumper that fits, but I dont have a welder or the capability to weld that thing together properly. :frown:

you can just go ahead and PM me those pics then.... I can not wait until moab and for sure will not be there... will you be "no topping it there" or you got that top done and not shown anyone yet? :D Now that would be a big surprise!!!

My painter is being a duschebag. Now he isnt spraying it till saturday which means I wont be able to take it on the road till monday becasue it has to cure.

On a better note...I believe I will be needing new tires for moab... should I stick with 35's even tho its a bit close in the back, or switch down to 33's?

Sheesh...When I said you should unveil the 40 at CM I meant CM07, not CM08 ;p

Do you have a shop close that will let you mount both sizes to see what you think? I had 35x12.5 BFGs on my '74 and dropped down to 33x12.5 MTRs. I was surprised at how tiny the 33s looked on the 40 when compared to the 35s. I dropped down to save my 2F, tranny, clutch, etc. some pain but on a rig set up to run 35s (lift wise etc) those 33s just look "wittle" :frown:

If I remember tonight I'll try to post up some decent comparison pictures

What's wrong with the mtrs?
