Rest of wire in back is attached.

Rear breather attached, rear shocks are back on.

the internal C-channel plate need a place where the brake line could be secured like OEM - done - for those who have been reading, I bought pre-bent brake lines from Classic tube and mentioned how the line going to the rear brakes was a bit long. Never posted an image what that looks like... Secure and how the tube had to be bent some to fit being too long..

Edit:
another photo and can see the tail pipe going on. (I know there is debate which way the boot should go)

Yellr is coming together. Might have a jam session Monday - goal it to get it running and off the lift. Bleed brakes - have a coolant leak - so look at that and whatever else.

Oh yeah - front military wraps... gone!!
Here is passenger side. Can see how it was digging into the hanger (silver scuffs)...

here is driver side (looking toward back of rig)

A beauty HJ61 came in Rus's today for an inspection. This rig is new to Nebraska. It has an 81 Series turbo diesel engine. I got to drive it. I shouldn't have. Wow. The rig started in Australia - they swapped that 81 Series engine before it left the country. Some modes were made state side around Sacramento CA before it came here.

and that is a 4Plus ladder/rear... Bowfin roof rack.

CD @ceylonfj40nut, this is that same rig you asked if this is 24v. It is.

It was because of you I was able to find the add. The I'm going to pass the info on to the new owner so he can contact some of the past. There's got to be a build tread on this.

I’ve had the opportunity to drive with a few of those engines in various cruisers. Very fun, so quiet and smooth.

I hate diesels (former diesel tech) and I want one.

gotta correct myself on the engine, it is a 12HT, not the HD.

other than that, splendid truck. the turbo is nice. makes one wonder how a 1HZ would feel with a little boost.

i have my sights on monday to start yours back up. had to push the noon appointment to tuesday instead. we have all day for yours.

Some more updates today.

Yesterday got the skid plate done... (Eastwood undercoat)
IMG_0525.jpg

Tackled more fuel stuff. lines to fuel filter and pump.

Here is the sediment in the "old" filter - is is about 11 months of driving. The old tank was pretty clean - maybe the hard tubes are a bit crusty on the inside?
IMG_0528.jpg

I didn't have the bracket that holds the fuel filter. Rus fabbed up one real quick.
IMG_0532.jpg

Here it is installed with a band clamp etc - for easy access and secure - will be on the hunt for the proper one but this is way better than it was...
IMG_0534.jpg

Had some PO wiring to clean up better - will tackle wiring a different day/year.
IMG_0536.jpg

I don't have a fusible link - got one from Coolerman for the time when wiring get going.
We were tracing what we could and will tack what goes where. Pretty sure this goes to ammeter (at least the colors - white with blue indicate that). Fuses stumped up some. I ripped out some PO wiring early last year.

I thought I was being "smart" when doing the suspension etc last summer. I got the 4plus flip kits - which are awesome. And the articulation travel is shorted a bit by the thickness of the top plate. The thought was, shorten the bump stop some. Can see where I was hitting the bump stop.

Passenger Side shot - same on DS too, no pic.
IMG_0542.jpg

However, the u-bolts sticking up hit the frame and the thinking is - hit it a few time in Colorado and worked a bolt loose.

Going to get a new bump stop and 1) not shorten it or 2) not shorten it as much.

The damage is the lower right bolt - underneath it - that is from the ubolt coming up

I feel like I don’t need to let Russ near my 40. He might have a stroke with his attention to detail. 😳
Sometimes the stroke comes from me. All the things he finds. But they are all correct. - Last post for the night coming up.

I will that works good enough and then he shows me up for even better.

I will bla bla about it

No picts...

So we dumped between 5-6 gallons in - check fuel gage - 1/4 tank - yep that is right. So confirming that is working... started it - took a while to see fuel in the filter - but got it running.

Then proceeded to get the exhaust on/buttoned up. Check all nuts/bolts straps from what was touched.

Bled brakes, put tires one! Been a while since on all 4. Went back and forth on its own. No big surprises.

Started to check light - I saw brake etc. Rus wanted to check backup light. I thought the connection went back, saw brake and blinker. Well what do you know. No reverse. Turned key to on to make sure power. Nope.

Rus crawled under as I was looking at lights and came on for a second. The wires at the base of the switch are almost bent off. Maybe fix it - but I see and aftermarket on at Racer for 20 bucks or so.

So the attention to detail do matter. I would have said 2 check - so should be fine. Nope.

Anyway - game is getting exciting - so going to finish watching.

Stay warm wherever you are.

If you’ve got Coolerman’s kit on hand for the fusible link it would probably take you less than an hour to swap it out. The PO of mine also had a similar janky fuse setup.

Thanks for the picture. I’m missing a single pin connector that goes with the link. Need to see if Mark has the wide single pin female to match the fusible link.

Again, thanks for the pictures!Extremely helpful

He has all the connectors. I needed both ends also as mine was completely ripped out. I used this thread for another picture reference and this wiring diagram.

You will need an open barrel terminal crimper if you don’t have one. I got this one on scamazon and it worked fine. I can see the white-blue wire that’s soldered and I believe that is where the fusible link plugs into and you feed it into that external fuse box in your other photo as shown in my photos and that other thread.

we have the crimp tools in a couple of different flavors.

i was just thinking bryan, see if Coolerman has the correct wire with the WL tracing. makes diag a lot easier when the wires are the correct color. see if he'd sell a few feet of it if he does.

don't forget the sealed connector for the fuel sender sub harness...

Update from Monday.

Yeller came off the lift. Been months - was grounded in September. Rus drove around a bit and said it was night a day different since when Yellr was grounded. Well I could not wait.

So with that, the other thing was coolant leaks I could not solve, tighten this, all is good, start pissing somewhere else. And intermittent at that too. Consistent leak, no problem.

Coolant drained. And as such, it brought in more effort. For example, my heater box. When I cleaned it up and put it back together, I didn't know a small part was missing when I bought it. It is a small tab that holds the lower flap in place. As such, the spring would not do its thing properly etc. Also, I was missing a nob at the top of my handle (in the baggie).

In this - my box to the left, the think on the wire underneath is what I was missing. Box on right is a spare box and other parts. Got new springs from... @DSB345 in the white box.
IMG_0577.jpg

Close-up of the tab missing... (naturally @solomrus said he could have made one). I got it from Tarnow
IMG_0578.jpg

Here is the tab installed that hold the flapper in place...
IMG_0585.jpg

Since all the heating tubes from inside were removed - the blower tube needed some tlc...

New foam cut up next to firewall..
IMG_0582.jpg

Opened up the inside panel under rear heater to look and make sure the fuel sending unit was installed properly. Two screws - one snapped. Ah, snap right?

Looked up screw number 93530-xxxxx - discontinued. I found this chart after reading about how to read part numbers - this is really about the shape and the first 5 digits.... Interesting for sure...

93530 - left column, second from bottom...
image (2).jpg

Well - searching, could not find that in various lengths (20)... Rus asked me to bring my bolt box and see what we could find. Rus found this nice shiny setup this morning - old ones up top.
IMG_0595.jpg

And where from... Overland Metric. I had bought a few kits of screw I thought I would need when I was going to take the side members and roof off - never happened...
