@Michael B …that photo is so inspiring, I screen shot it and will hang it on MY wall!…. What a fantastic photo and wonderful place to go to for cruiser guys/girls.

I've tried three times and each time got stymied. Covid, detour due to bad weather and the closest I got they were closed. Next year...
Keep trying, it’s worth the effort. Be sure you go Wednesday through Saturday. Those are Dan’s days at the museum.

Go before Dan heads out. Wife, kids and I stopped by one time delivering cruiser parts several years ago. I don’t think they were open but he accommodated us as we walked around and drooled.

The cruisers are awesome but Dan competed the deal.

I would LOVE to go… for me, Salt Lake City is the other side of the planet. We don’t fly well and I am getting a little old for a 3 day ride But.. @Michael B , I did show my wife your photo and she said,”we should go”.
Well, that’s half the battle

it seems from everything I have seen and read…especially the way @cruiserdan can spew out details about parts, trucks, years ..what is correct etc etc…. He ain’t gonna be able to leave for a while …of course when you're at the top of the list, no one really ever replaces you

It is bucket list for me. Kids are now in Sun Valley just up the road so next year I can plan around Dan's opening times and not have to fit it in as a drive by activity. Looking forward to it.

If I understood Jules correctly, they are actively searching for Dans replacement 🥺

He is terrific for the museum as well as the rest of the Cruiser community. But he, like all of us, isn’t getting any younger and has earned his personal time to rest and enjoy life. 🇺🇸

Gentleman, a cautionary tale if you will. When installing OME spring bushings, read and head their installation instructions. It is stated, that you should use a molybdenum grease. There are, apparently, no other substitutes. Please see the pictures. This happened in 12k miles.

These are what is left of the front spring, rear mount bushings.

What grease were you using? This is definitely a problem- the OME bushings that were in my truck when I bought it were pretty wrecked and they were only about 4 years old. They were not bad as yours, but they definitely were hammered and useless. When I replaced them in 2020 I used Stabil Molygraph grease to lube them, and continue to do so. At this time they still appear to be holding up, but...

I had used Lucas Red and Tacky.

Wow. Didn't expect that. Is the bushing reacting to the grease and falling apart? Or is it just not getting lubed properly without the moly grease? I best be checking my bushings!

My truck lubed for 4-5 years. Moved it around a couple of times. Parked it, looked down and see yellow crumbles. Like a mice ate it, NOT. Its was disintegrating inside out.

Damn…bushings are part of my updates this spring… seems to be a more critical assembly that I would have believed. Re-examining my supply list…thank you for the heads up @Michael B

Pat it appears to be reacting to the lube itself.

Has this been shared with OME?
