Can you post a picture of the wiper motor? Another elusive part that I need to locate.

Made this cool little screen for the cowl vent....keep that thing clean now that we've got it all working.

For sure....we didn't put the one back in the for sale RV.....pic tomorrow.

Worked on AC stuff today....we had to get creative with the heater lines for the AC/heat box.....I wanted them behind the unit and there is very little room...this was how we got it to fit. Had to modify the defrost portion of the unit as well to work with our cable location. Lot of stuff going on with this AC unit when you look at the backside. Got the condenser installed today too. Will fit the bib tomorrow and see how things look....will be nice to have the front end together. I like it when my Land Cruisers look like Land Cruisers.

Tomorrow we hang AC unit, get some AC lines crimped, hook up some heater hose/cooling system stuff and cross more off the list....

AC in today for final...had to reconfigure a few of my pulls/switches so they were a straighter shot thru the fire wall. I wish I could have used the Old Air Hurricane AC system but it wouldn't fit the firewall on the LV. This unit is really nice.

Got the LVs face back on too....nice to see it looking like it might be ready to drive in the not too distant future.

Mulling over doing some new 7" headlights with LED bulbs....NOT LED headlights. The VW guys use these really cool OEM looking headlights that accept a H4 bulb.....Sylvania makes some really high dollar LED bulbs...I might give them a shot. I really don't care about the light output, but having a pure white light would look pretty neat on the old turd.

Cool pic I ran across in my folder for this truck. Can't wait until it sees the light of day again. Hopefully soon.

I wanted to get the front seat together and in......these came out of the for sale RV. They were pretty mint and the pattern is way cool.

The AC unit is nicely tucked up in the dash. Did you modify the glove box at all to make it fit?

No mods to the glove box at all.

My 45 pickup runs a Nostalgic Air setup....really nice because there is no loss of knee/legroom on the passenger side. This one is cool because of the remote knobs. There will be a vent on the left side of the dash too. Hopefully with all the Lizard Skin, this AC will cool things off enough. Maybe not on the hottest of FL days but that's fine.....I won't be driving this thing every day.

I was able to use the Hurricane unit in my LV. It stuck out beyond the dash so I cut the hump in the firewall back about 1.75" and now it fits in nicely. It is tight against the back side of the dash and all in the center so no. Soy loses leg room. I will have two vents in the center and one on each side. Defrost will hook up to the stock vents. Of course this did force me to abandon the stock wiper motor and linkage but that is something I wanted to upgrade anyway.

That Hurricane looks nice in there....I bought one and was crushed when it didn't fit. No way would I touch my firewall though. I won't even drill an extra hole in that truck. I think the Hurricane is the better unit though....we are using the one I have in a customer FJ40 build.

How are you going do the lines for the AC? Thru the firewall behind the unit or over to the passenger side and thru the firewall below the glove box?

Have you figure out your wipers? Not a lot of room up there to play around with stuff.

My firewall was a mess to begin with so I did not worry about altering it. I felt the interior space was more important. The hoses go through the firewall just under the glove box. I am going to use a cable drive unit. I just got it last week and have not had a chance to see how it will work. I am working on the placement of the 3 point seat belts for the front.

You've seen their electric control system for that unit? Really cool. We ran cables on my setup and it was a lot of work due to the shallowness of the dash. The FJ40 install will get the electric setup from Old Air. I'm sure I could have adapted their electric setup to the Nostalgic Air unit but in all honestly, heat and defrost will rarely be used here in FL....so I'm not super worried about having them on cables. Defrost was tough to make work. Heat wasn't a big deal.

We used their 4 way bulkhead for the heat/AC lines on the FJ40....slick setup and a clean way to get things thru the firewall.

I'm installing the hurricane as well and am running lines to a bulkhead where the original fan was located. Electric Controls in ashtray slot and vents in same location as above. Didn't see room to go straight out back with a 3f.

Cool setup with electric controls in the ashtray. Any pics? Did you mod your firewall like Jlawson did to sink that unit back a bit?

I did not mod the firewall. Later plan is to build a cover similar to what Icon does. Slightly smaller opening than the stock ashtray spot. I did have to change from Vacuum and cable 4wd controls to floor shift. Not a huge issue as the FJ62 tcase vacuum pod did not clear the frame, which i found out a bit later. I had planned to keep everything stock on the dash but AC won the coin toss.

Ah.....a pickup. I think the firewall on the pickup is deeper than the LV....so no mods necessary to get the Old Air unit in there.
