Hello Guys,

I can't believe I'm asking this but what do think my 1962 FJ40 Hardtop is worth... the only place it has any rust is in the rear still...
Also it has no engine... it seems I never have the time to work on it and the money goes into something else. :bang:

Don

It found it out in SoCal 2 years ago were it had spent it's entire life..

Don, if it's in Ohio with you, than you should be able to do a little better. You can advertise it as a rust free California vehicle. ;) Seriously, there is some worth to a low rust vehicle in the area, $1,000+ for shipping and their being able to see it before buying............as opposed to the risk of a long distance purchase.

Umm, watcha doing with the motor that was going to go in it?

I was thinking it should worth somewere in the $1000-$1500 range being so it has very little rust... and yes it is here in Ohio... and it does have some of the hard to find things like a stamped bezel and all the stock interior, pingel hitch ect, I see rusted out FJ's sell that I would not look twice at.... As for the Toyota V8's I have for it not sure what I'm going to do with them at this point... If I do sell it I will sell some of the few things I have picked up for it.

I was wondering if they have a handle that locks into different spots instead of a crank. I have a pic I hope this helps explain myself. :)

For what it's worth, if you want to sell it because you could use the cash somewhere else, which anyone would understand, then I'd say around $1000 to $1200.

But...if you are selling it because you can't find the time, and you have space to keep it, then I'd say find an older running F engine, just drop it in, and just enjoy it, or working on it, when you can...you will probably be kicking yourself the minute you see her being driven away!

May I ask what you paid for it?

Its not the money...heck I use that kind of money feeding the motorhome in one trip... It just seems I never have the time to spend on it...or maybe I'm just lazy  I have a 07 Toyota drivetrain 4.7 V-8 sitting on the floor next to it and a Lexus 1UZ V-8 sitting under the hood.... Everybody keeps telling me to put a stock engine back in it :flipoff2: But thats just not me... My goal is/was to keep it looking as stock as possible but have a late model TOYOTA drivetrain in it not a small block Chevy....

But hell I'm not sure at this point with all the other toys I have in the garage.

Your first if I decide to sell it....:crybaby:

No need to be sad; your body and my drivetrain would make a BEAUTIFUL resto. she would be well taken care of

No hurry or pressure; just don't want to see such an early example turned into a rock crawler and destroyed

nothing wrong with that. All toyota would be cool. It's already missing the early F which if already gone I wouldn't put that back in anyway. I would have put in 2f or a diesel but the v8 is cool too.

thats what i would do if i had those things accesable to me...get rid of all the other toys and commit to restoring the 62 toy....wait ....what other toys are in your garage? :)

I guess i'm a radical purist...as long as its Toyota its pure
