Nice job Michael.

That turned out fantastic! Great job.

Sorry it has been a while since I have updated! ARB front is finally done and have a few minutes to post an update. As alluded in a few previous posts, while the bumper was technically a bolt-up affair as far as frame mounting, etc there was a lot of tedious custom trimming and fitting done to get it to fit. Also, zero room for error in mounting adjustment as there is less than 1/4" of room for the hood to open at the upper cross bar and light mount tabs.
Some things we learned:
- The LX has 4 parking sensors vs 2 on the LC200. And the LX sensors mount differently so we had to source 2 200 series sensors to work with the provisions in the ARB bumper and the 2 center sensors had to be custom mounted behind the "mesh" insert in the ARB. We cut out the mounts from the factory grill and grafted them behind the insert. The outer parking sensors are also wider apart on the ARB bumper so the harness had to be lengthened.
- The ARB bumper uses 200 series factory LED fog lights so we had to source those as well. The LX fog light connectors are not the same as the 200, luckily we had a 2019 Tacoma in that we were installing a front bumper on that did not utilize the factory fog light connectors so we were able to steal that harness and graft it into this build.
- The cut template does not line up very well, we left an extra inch in place from the fender to bumper line and that almost wasn't enough to "fine tune" the bumper/plastic gap at the wheel well. We'd leave more like 1.5" next time to leave more meat to play with if needed.

Looks to me like the bumper is spaced way too close to the body. The bumper flexes a lot more than the body, and I'm worried you might damage body/lights with so little clearance.

Have you seen this video?

"Corrugations: Why they destroy vehicles (inc slow motion) AKA: washboard road - YouTube"

Take a look at bumper flex at 1:11 and 1:30.

Thanks for the advice and concern @gaijin! There is actually quite a bit more room that there looks between the bumper and body. We used edge trim with a light flexible bulb seal to create the illusion of less gap. Also realized, those photos were taken before our final trim session after the bumper was 100% bolted in place so not all the gaps and lines were even. There is the minimum 18mm recommended by ARB between the bumper and plastic panels. See attached photos of final trim and gap.

There was also some concern voiced of the top tube/tabs to hood gap. There is plenty of room with the hood all the way latched. That minimal gap is only as the hood passes the tabs and tube when opened and closed.

Everything was cross axle flex tested to the point opposite tires were light enough to spin to check for clearances. (Note these photos were taken before final trim and they did not cause any issues even then)

Nice!! It's a gorilla in a tuxedo....

Looks awesome! Not an LX owner myself (would love to eventually have a 200 series when the family gets larger), but rather a GX owner and we have the same troubles fitting bullbars w/ the spindle grill. It is amazing how many folks hate the spindle grille, but I think they look great hacked in half. :) While I dig the ARBs and have had them before, I went with an Ironman on this one and I think it turned out great. I'll definitely be following your build...absolutely love built 200s.

Also, great idea using the trim w/ a bulb attached to further hide the gap, while still giving some flex space. I just have the trim now, but may look into the trim w/ bulb to fill in the gap a bit more.

Man I love a built GX! Looks great!

How about a few more pics @BMRisko

Here is a rough build thread I started last night.

Dang! I just saw your truck Saturday at Wanderlust. You've been busy!

It has something to do with an LRA tank. I would guess it allows you to put the gas from the aux tank to something other than the main tank.

Good call. It allows a diversion of the fuel to an auxiliary 6ft hose. No need for Jerry cans, and you can even direct (albeit painfully slow) fill into a buddy’s rig.

Yes it would be painfully slow. So in looking back at this thread, do you have a 40 gal LRA tank?
