Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

Is there a real interest in buying a car that has sat like this? I really wanted to see under the engine covers in those pics.

I love it when they just cut paste info from a website telling you what you would see on a mfg website. I would think the clientele looking at these would care more about the story of the vehicle over a mfg brochure.
Also curious - This one is on BAT right now too. 21k-Mile 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser UZJ100 - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2001-toyota-land-cruiser-54/

2001 w/ 21k miles. I actually am going to check it out today, I live only 15 mins from where it is. I can't justify paying that premium either but it is still an awesome vehicle I figured I should see before it gets shipped to CA to sit in someone's garage.

Would you be able to pull a report for 2016+ LXs? Very curious what the market is
+1 on this. I am waiting for a 2016 w/ 43k miles to get to my local Carmax - Listed $48,998. Not sure what all to look for when it arrives, comparably it seems cheaper than what I have seen out there, I wonder if for good reason.

From what I've seen shopping seems like a reasonable price given the mileage but not a crazy good one or bad one. I bought my last car from CarMax and had a decent but not perfect experience, but I'd probably buy from them again. Given it's 8 almost 9 years old CarMax probably didn't give much for it so I'd say the price isn't too good to be true IMO.

Looks to be a decent deal, Carmax always near the top of retail pricing. This was run on the 2016 with 43K from the link. Average mileage was 100K for these at auct so this may not have enough volume to be super accurate. The smaller the spread, the better the news for the consumer.

I took delivery of a 2016 LX570 Atomic Silver over Cabernet. 2-owner vehicle with 32K miles that has been in Texas since new. Bought from a Lexus dealer in San Antonio. Paid $54K. Working on getting my LX470 sold now.

Saw the 01 went for 57k.
01 is a good year, you dont have to worry about a transmission. 😎

Carmax is a decent service for checking out cars.
They are horrible at actually checking cars and inspecting them.

@diesel22 the question youd better ready yourself for is are you willing to pay 48k if surface rust
Being a terrapin / VA truck, high likelihood
Otherwise that one looks pretty good

Carmax doesnt detail cars in my area, so if clean engine bay = likely garaged
Unsure if other carmaxes run same way or not
That bay looks clean

Post back with what you find!

How was it?
So awesome. I didn't drive it but sat in it and gave it a good look over. It looked as if it came off the floor, not sure if they did a hell of a detail or just maintained that well for 23 years. Probably both.

Leather was perfect, could barely find a spot of use. Just don't think it made sense over the 200 for a small family cruiser w/ 2 kids under 3 and a dog. Man was it sweet though.

Thank you! I will, supposed to arrive Friday. Anything specific I should look for? I thought about swinging it up to the Lexus dealer, probably only 10 mins from Carmax but not sure what use that would be honestly.

I'm not a 200 expert like many on this board, I'm trying to get one myself.
Had one years ago, I regret selling it now.

My amateur opinion - try to figure out if it was taken care of.

Not easy to do, but could try to pin down if any toyota or lexus dealers serviced it -
for my money the coolant change is the one that gets missed that will cost you.

I found a really nice '14 LX in Kansas city
Clean frame, north carolina truck, tons of documented dealer servicing.
Prior owner felt need to dump Lucas oil stabilizer and ATF fluid into each oil change -
Lexus dealer documented it each time.

I passed on it as result, but was nice truck.
2014 with 155k, they were asking $29,000

Curious if you bought the LX as carmax isn't showing price on it now

YUP. I'm in the NE, and I would say this isn't that bad in terms of rust. But no maintenance made it a walk away situation. Told the dealer that they can call me back if they are willing to sell it as a 95kmiles vehicle with depreciating modifications.
I also checked this car out. Sent you a message. Wanted to see your thoughts

I did not, checking it out this week, it arrived late last week to my local Carmax. Will try to see if it was taken care of. Lexus records were decent but then nothing for like the last 3 years which makes me a little weary.

2011, 5k miles. The ad says a whole lot of Jack and squat about how that happened other than it's a lifelong California truck. Someone must have bought it used it briefly and lost it in their massive collection or died and it sat for 15 years? Weird either way. I'd bet it'll go for a bit stack of cash and then sit for 10 years and then end up back on BaT.

Who wants to make over/under bets on the price? 55k?
Ended up going for 65570$. Looks like the bidding winner wanted it bad, upped the price 5k in one go at one point. That's even more than I thought it would go for.

May I request your quick thoughts on 2016 LC 200 black on black no mods - dealer asking $44k
Connecticut driven grocery getter, dealer maintained, 125k miles, 1 owner, no issues, slight surface rust on frame, a few parking lot dings but very clean

Heck yeah, pull the trigger!
Price is right and one owner, no brainer.
