No need to hate to be the one to say it, definitely needed a lot of work done. So may be a medium, definetly don't see it as a major collision. I said it was a minor collision because no airbags went off. Literally scraped off my front bumper at a 90 degree angle.

the tranny I believe should have been a warranty issue. Claiming my tranny needed to be replaced from "winching it on and off the tow truck" is a farce.

Yeah, I thought that was a lot for well cared for rig. I guess Police and/or insurance were involved with each incident.

I wanted to see it in person to determine extent of previous damage and confirm quality of repairs, but didn’t get that opportunity. The seller was very upfront about the history while he owned it, he also mentioned he was essentially selling it for $1000 more than the local dealer offered.

I would say that is correct, but it is starting to slip more with flippers selling negative. More capital will get locked up next year and there will be less stupid money. Bigger picture, 40 Years of bad policies will haunt us for a long time. We are already 2-3 years into this cycle and the more govs manipulate the worse it gets.

I don’t see too many nice ones being flipped, however I think there are some high mileage and questionable history ones that go to auction and end up in the fringes of the auto dealer world.

It isn’t as bad when you get outside California!

Yeah it would be hard to say what caused a transmission issue, certainly odd.

I would think that you should be able to accomplish your value goal. Non Salvage, non air bag deployment will help the history reports.

You don’t see many Heritage Editions with average mileage for sale in the $70k’s?!?

Sorry the flipped comment was more general for all the autos (broncos, LC, LR, non v8 raptors, etc).

Knowing dealers they will probably take it for $70k and then try and get fat off it with a $10k to $15k mark up.

@prwillard2 I had my ‘20 HE appraised a couple weeks ago at a local Lexus dealer and was offered $83k. I’d say mine is overall good condition with normal wear for the age and mileage. Approaching 23k on the odometer.

Feels right in the ballpark. Many similars listed at dealers for that rate, and definitely not as clean. Slow demand right now so not a ton of buyers out there, so while you could maybe get a bit more, just depends on how patient you are.

No worries, it should be frustrating to folks that really want to buy and enjoy to buy those vehicles when they are introduced.

There are too many folks that find a dealer willing to sell a (Raptor, Bronco, Z06 Vette, Red Eye, 911, etc.) at MSRP (which they all should) and then buy it and flip it immediately for thousands above what they paid and then call dealers crooks!

Meanwhile, the real enthusiast is still waiting on a car or pays way above MSRP, I bet this is part of the reason that some dealers won’t sell at MSRP, it is too difficult to separate the user from the flipper.

I speculate the FE 250 and GX Overland? Model will present many of those circumstances.
 
There are two interesting LC200 rigs for sale at the two Boise Toyota dealers.
One is a 2015 that is a 70k clean unit but they wont budge off of their high price of $49.9k (with a Toyota record of dash harness issues from a shorted wire ghetto wiring LED ditch light install / rodent damage)

Keeping up on the mouse nest trend...

The other is a 2011 with 29k miles(yeah- 29k...). No price listed yet but it has... A tragic but well documented Toyota service record of "severe rodent damage"- entire engine harness was replaced but still had a couple service trips for electrical repairs after the harness and engine bay was rebuilt. Curious to see how bad that one smells on a muggy day...

A lot of bad dealers out there. Worst part was they burnt most bridges with repeat buyers over the last 8 years.

Money costs something now, so that will change things going forward but it will take time to break down. Also most people dont understand interest and are very over leveraged. Benz wanted 9.5%🤣 for a new G-wagon. I have near perfect credit and no debt. I have nothing to loose for waiting but I hear people are financing lambos at that rate.

Certainly plenty of bad and too many terrible ones, however there are far fewer today to paint with too broad a brush.

I read they were approaching 10%!

A wise wealthy friend would always shrug at high interest rates and say well I guess my cash is worth something now!

Field mice and pack rats love modern cars. Tons of sound insulation and tasty wiring.

Soy based wire insulation is a thing over the last 20 years... Cheaper than milspec teflon jackets... Its a cost cutting measure for bean counters

My guess would be the 2011 was a cabin vehicle that obviously sat more than it was utilized.

If the wiring harness was replaced correctly, it would not concern me at a better price so that I have some reserve left to replace the next one!

Unfortunately, not just the wiring anymore, a non petroleum base is also being used for some of the fuel line as well. Being more exposed it also popular and accessible with squirrels and probably all those other pesky little critters they have out West!
 
Looking @ a 2013 with 200k+ for $29,000. Pretty good shape. Looking to upgrade my 06. Mainly for better sound system and radar cruise control. Real tempted as likely could get around 28 for my 06.
