Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

Yes, door jamb, looks like someone took a bite out of it. Hopefully nothing serious there.

I don't see any signs of a repaint, i can tell when a panel has been repainted. I've no clue what happened

Wait…. I just went to look, it looks normal to me? Why does that previous pic look like that, weird. Looks like it was cut off too

Wow, weird, those digital cameras photoshop for you without you even knowing it. Your truck looks very nice, great that the label is intact. GLWS!

Thanks, i'll sleep on it and see if i want to sell. I'll post it on FB, not here. Lol nobody on mud wants to pay, even for a good truck. Sold my previous five 100 series on FB markeplace within a week or two of posting.

Now you know not to include That photo in the ad. Nothing prevents you from posting here and other places. I think mud members are more picky because they know more about the trucks and what they are and this is not negative from a community stand point. I learned a lot on these forums. I think there could be a few theories and arguments made both or many ways why some time truck ads don't meet sellers expectation and some for good reason while other appear to be good trucks don't sell as quick as expected.

2008, 130k miles, salvage title. This hit higher the first time it was listed on eBay but buyer must have backed out and the new bidders got scared.

I am looking at 09 LX with almost 200k ,rust free from the south, very clean other than standard driver seat usage, full service records,2nd owner same family.Reason for selling owner got quoted $8k from Lexus for the repairs .Owner bottom price is 16.5k .Should i pull the trigger?
In my opinion the problems are
1 Stuck cdl and 4lo actuators ?
2 SAIS ?
Lx is about 1000 miles away from me.

Probably a $18-20K car if everything is working well and it was well maintained. I would pass, unless you are really handy or want to rebuild an expedition / overlander and are going to do a fair amount of work.

There's a dude named Jeff selling a white 2008 Land Cruiser on Facebook Marketplace in IL for $19,975. I was about to pull the trigger at $19K, and when I put the VIN into the service records at Toyota this came up among many other things:

R/R CYLINDER HEADS AND INSPECT FOR COOLANT IN CYLINDERS. CUSTOMER DECLINED REP

R/R CYLINDER HEADS AND INSPECT FOR COOLANT IN CYLINDERS. CUSTOMER DECLINED REP ~|~CUSTOMER STATES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS FLASH, VSC LIGHT IS ON.. 4LO FLASHING. ~|~MIL DTC P0305 CYLINDER 5 MISFIRE, COOLANT LOW UPON ARRIVAL. VEHICLE FAILED BLOCK TEST. ~|~R/R CYLINDER HEADS AND INSPECT FOR COOLANT IN CYLINDERS. CUSTOMER DECLINED REPAIRS, ENGINE OVERHEATING AND/OR WARPAGE MAY OCCUR.

Just a heads up for anybody else looking at this 200 thinking it is a good deal. He bought the truck from California to bring back to IL to sell. When confronted with this information he said the previous owner fixed it by replacing the spark plug, then he blocked me when I backed out of the sale. Do your homework on this one...

I posted about this one a couple months ago:

I personally observed them perform the combustion gas in coolant test and it appeared to pass. I ultimately didn't jump on it for a sum of other reasons.

What is interesting is that the Toyota dealer in California where they sold it, not the place where the head gasket was diagnosed incorrectly, they did a whole bunch of other work that's not showing in the Toyota record.

And I recorded this about my experience:

So do you think the car eventually went to auction because of this flaw? This guy Jeff said he bought this and two other older trucks to bring back to IL to flip. I might add, the 2008 he is selling also has a new aftermarket suspension with Bilsteins and springs(unspecified). I was really disappointed to not go pick this up this morning, but as my wife said sometimes a little more peace of mind is worth a few thousand bucks instead of shopping in the bargain basement. I mean, I have three LC already, but this one stung a little to miss at the price. His response just set me off a bit.

To be clear, before the original owner sold it to the dealer in Northern California, a dealer in southern California diagnosed a head gasket issue that you provided in capture from the Toyota service history. The selling dealer in northern California found no head gasket issue, and I asked for and witnessed a new block test performed at the selling dealer in Northern California that indicated no head gasket issue. When I test drove it, there were no overheating concerns during the 30 plus minutes that I had it running.
According to the selling dealer in Northern California, whatever issue presented itself in southern California as resolved with spark plugs and perhaps a new coil.

So unless the head gasket failed after leaving the northern California dealer there is no head gasket flaw.

Did Jeff say he picked it up at auction?

My communication with the selling dealer in CA was that it was sold not at auction.

Did you get your hands on a Carfax?

Another flipper out there trying to sell their "barn find." Definitely one of the lowest mileage 2008s out there! Bet this one will be on BaT soon, not going to sell on eBay or the forums at this price. Clean, has the emu lift, great LC for someone (just a very small subset of people out there looking for this...)

It already was on BaT.

Nothing wrong with flippers, as long as they're not buying junk and hiding problems and selling it. I plan on selling mine soon, for more than what i paid for it of course. Maybe by winter when demands for trucks is higher and i've finished my traveling needs with this vehicle.
