Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

Which would you buy?

1. 2015 LX570 w/ 95k miles for $40k (Luxury w/ Radar)
2. 2013 LX570 w/ 130k miles for $37k (Luxury)
3. 2011 LX570 w/ 175k miles for $28 (Luxury)

I would go with #1 or #3, depending if you plan on building or keeping mostly stock. I’d personally go #1.

Are you still finding these prices? #1 and 3 seem about 5k low based on what I’ve seen the past few months

Agreed, #1. This is the newest and lowest miles and price difference is not significant.

I would not entertain #3, as too many miles for me, plus the oldest.

My buddy just bought a 2015 lx. 100k miles, lux w radar. Paid 42k from flow in Winston Salem. Black on black. Crazy how a LC would sell for 10k more.

Seems like the lx market might be softening a bit.

I’m in the market for another LC as well, and I think it’s a combination of the following:
-increased interest due to overlanding,
-Increased interest/perceived scarcity due to the 200-series exit and no 300-series LC in sight,
-all compounded by low sales volume and the acknowledgment that the 100/200 series has been a great value until 2021.

Because it was seen as a luxury vehicle by the majority of the American market, it probably suffered unnecessary depreciation and was undervalued and is now pontentially only slightly over-valued for what it is.

I initially was drawn to the platform for the value proposition, and despite its inflation, I still think it’s a great value. I sold my ‘05 LX470 in 2016 for 21k and 130k miles to get into our 2011, and I’m looking at paying the same price to get into another ‘05 with 175k. Go figure.
Imo it’s Toyota’s reputation for capability and reliability. My other truck is an expedition el. Truck is a 2016 with 65k miles and it’s a rattle trap. Paint is failing on the roof. Cam fazers making noise. I’m not sure it will make it to 100k miles.
New expo’s are selling for $70k, and sitting in one the quality has gotten worse. Same with the suburban.
The mindset that a car is used up at 100k miles has been debunked by the land cruiser. Legendary reliability equals a cheap cost of ownership, and the 200 somehow feels special, like owning a a Range Rover without the drama.

I have the ongoing dilemma between value of the LX and LC. Both of ours have been LX’s and couldn’t have been happier. However, I did get some side comments about “driving a Lexus” from my superiors during a push for a pay raise which made me really re-think the perception of the two brands and their implications. That, and the fact that the LC logo has routinely fetched more has me leaning toward the LC this time around. Those that know, know, those that don’t think it’s “just a Toyota” and I avoid any perception discussions.

Not sure how, but the vast majority of people I talk to have no idea that Lexus is owned by Toyota.

Yeah, I think that’s the problem. I basically had to explain that the LX was a re-badged Toyota and that “luxury” vehicle was a steal when I bought it at 5 years old.

You don't have to explain anything...
Should've stopped the convo, stuck your nose in the air and walked away.

I’m a money manager and like to keep a low profile. I keep my lx garaged and wash it weekly.
I get compliments daily on how nice and clean it looks. It certainly looks like a $100k truck, not a Toyota with 85k miles on it.

In my case it was more of “knowing your audience.” The comment came from a fiscally conservative CFO that drove a 15 year, beat up Honda Accord. Such is corporate life.

I think the trucks are so well built and their styling holds up that it’s startling when we let people know our vehicle is 10 years old but looks great.

Absolutely agreed that there is a massive perception gap between the LC and LX (at least here in the US.) I'd be willing to bet that if you parked my '11 LC and a same-model-year LX next to one another, the average person would guess the LX is worth double the price of my LC. At least in my area of the US, the big Lexus is in the same perceived category as the Range Rovers/Escalades/GLSs.

My area as well. Most will think an entry bmw or Mercedes is worth more.

Data point: I definitely think the LX570 market is starting to soften. (Not the LC200 market though.)

I'm seeing LX570s sit on dealer lots longer and dealers unwilling to budge much on price because they bought them at auction at the peak of the market. (A clean, no accident LX570 has been on a lot for 215 days for example.)

Still looking for my unicorn though...

My neighbor calls his LC200 'stealth wealth'. love it

Opinion wanted:

2014 LX w/ 93k miles for $41,500 from small local dealer

- Luxury w/ radar
- All GA/TX owned (no rust)
- No accidents on carfax, but minor damage to rear bumper 3 years ago (Scratches which were removed)
- Radiator already replaced by Lexus dealer (preventative)
- Regular oil change history
- No record of AHC, front diff, rear diff, or TC fluid change

For some reason in my head I have a cap of $40k. Sit & wait it out or bite the bullet & buy it?

I got a no rust Southern 2014 LX w/ 160K for a little over 31K from a Lexus dealer about a month ago.
$40K or walk away IMHO.

2011 LX570 75k miles. Rust free and great service history. $37k.
