Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

I have a pricing question and need to know if too high or in the ballpark.

2017 LX570, 3 row all options - about 48k miles.

Pristine condition inside and out. Brand new tires and brakes. Undercarriage looks almost brand new, owner states vehicle has only been used in summer and stored in winter. I can attest no rust.

This is a private party transaction and the lowest he will go is $72,500.

Is this too high? I am afraid once the LX600 comes out or the chip shortage issue is behind us, that the value of this rig will drop substantially.

Let me know what you think. I am on the fence and do not want buyers remorse, especially once the new LX comes out.
Spoke to a buddy of mine just the other day who’s a senior software developer at a big tech company in Palo Alto and in that conversation, they are forecasting a minimum of 2-3 yrs before chip manufacturing can catch up. Vehicles will continue to have delays worldwide. I had no idea how many chips go into a vehicle. It’s pretty staggering…upwards to 3000 chips for the most advanced cars and the chips in any particular vehicle are not all from the same manufacture currently. Don’t expect a big line of up of the new LX600 sitting at the dealership. I bet you’ll see one or two at most at any given dealer and they’ll probably be pre-sold over msrp. Also, people like me just can’t get over not having a split gate. I know it goes against the grain on here but the 600 doesn’t t offer anything unique or exciting. For $100k luxo, I’d rather have the Cayenne then the LX. The Cayenne with proper tires is one hell of an off-road machine. However, the same people who buy the LX 600 and Cayenne aren’t taking them off-road and if you’re mall cruising or road tripping, you have a lot of luxo options that look miles better then the LX600. Just my thoughts.

Agreed. In theory the LX600 may be out in Q1 next year, but unknown when they will be readily available to test drive and purchase.

I am thinking the seller is trying to get dealer pricing on this rig. I entered into Carvana, Vroom and CarMax. Pricing varies widely from $60k to about $67k. This is using the sell your car service.

This LX needs absolutely nothing and is almost new. Tough decision……

Not sure if this link will work as doing from my phone:

Only been on car gurus for 7-days. I'd wait until maybe 21 days +. If he sees it doesn't move at that price I am sure he would be more negotiable.

Random thought: In 2018, I looked at a used 2016 LX570 w/ 9k miles, one owner LX570 at a dealer in Oregon. It was $51k. Oh how I miss those pre-pandemic deals. :)

That’s my major concern, that pricing will come back to normal in 2022 or early 2023. Everything for sale right now is grossly overpriced. I would really like a $55k or $60k LX, but not happening anytime soon.

Looks like a well kept LX. I’m not a fan of owning black autos because of the upkeep but if you’re into it go for it. It looks really nice and see if they take $70k. That’s what I would offer.

I think that's a pretty high price for that year and those miles, even in this market.

Wait.

Agreed. I’m going to tell the seller pricing is too high and I’m out.

I’m sure when pricing eases, this same vehicle will sell for $10k less. I remember seeing used 2016s and 2017s with asking prices in high $50s to low $60s before Covid and shortages. Just not sure how long it will take for pricing to normalize.

Those pricing will probably never will happen due to crazy inflation we are experiencing, with such high inflation even when we will have prices normalize the floor for pricing will also have reset to higher levels than precovid and it will not just the auto industry.
For reference i just picked 2016 w 59k clean miles dealer services TEXAS vehicle for $64500 and missed a Vroom lx which was 46k miles 2016 clean carfax TEXAS vehicle for $62k. So the asking is high even for this market, and regardless of what the seller states, salt belt or east coast and north states vehicles are usually cheaper than southern vehicles. I love the black color and they are nabbed quicker than any other colors but his asking is more than where a private party priciing should be.
On another note i really do like split gate instead of new design and the new LX600 seems shorter to me and not big fan of V6 and turbos either so keeping mine for a long time. If you want to buy and keep for long time then by all means you can justify the price.

I had a conversation with the seller yesterday. He stated 4 dealers want to buy his LX. I think he stated they all offered $70k and would list for $76.5k (or at least one dealer said that).

He is trying to get dealer retail, but I am not paying that. I would expect a private party transaction to be less, but in this market who knows.

I know someone will overpay for this LX, but it won’t be me. I am not big on black, as impossible to keep clean. With all the salt on the roads here in New England, it would be a part time job keeping it clean. I really like the atomic silver color…….

I was looking at a spreadsheet I was keeping for listings in early 2021. There was a 2018 LX with 45k miles and CPO listed for $66k. I should have jumped on that back then 👎

Cool graph showing price trends on 2016 - 2021 Land Cruisers. Interesting spike around September that's heavy on the final two years.

It ain't never coming back!

Totally agree… not sure what everyone is smoking these days.
The economy is cyclical and this Covid BS will die down eventually. Supply constraints will begin to ease.

Might take a year or two, but we will be back closer to what we are accustomed to. I for one am hoping for a recession as that’s where the opportunity will be. Great time to buy real estate and vehicles!

👍👍

Need some advice on pricing. Looking to get an LX for my wife and I’ve found a 2013 with 74k miles. No accidents, no rust, dealer maintained and I’ve done a PPI and the truck is immaculate. With shipping I’m looking at $42k or so to get it back to Portland, Oregon.

Thoughts?

That’s about the going rate now days.
Look up the Autotrader and you will see most LX similarly priced or more.
I just paid a little over $31K w/ 2014 but with 160K miles.

You could do worse. A Lexus dealer near us has a 2013 LX with 100k miles, 4 owners, and accident history for $44k

Hey folks! We just bought a 2014 LC with 133k miles, good dealer service records, 2 owners, and no accident history for $41.5k from a dealer in VA. Main strike against it would be that it spent its life in PA, but rust underneath is light and i'll be attacking that with Fluid Film shortly.
