Brent can you lay those Wedco's on their sides without leakage? So far the only cans I have found that don't leak when layed on their sides are the Scepters.

Scott, are you laying your cans down to use the OEM rack? I gave up trying to tie things to that rack. What type of light bar did you add to the front? and which lights?

AVI hotel resv.$31.06 including tax.(two queen beds) for the 22nd.

I had them on the skinny side, but I'd filled them standing up, so I know there was gas against the filler. No leaks at all. Here's a pic of how I had them mounted.

I am very interested, this sounds like a lot of fun. I have extra fuel & water, camping and recovery gear as well as spare parts and tools.

Even a spare CV these days huh:D

I don't want to sound like a flake which is why I never commit until I know for sure I can make a run. I still want to go but haven't decided how best to replace my rear driveshaft. I also have two dogs. Unfortunately only one is well behaved enough to come along so I always need to find someone to watch the other. Lastly, we have some pretty stringent deadlines I'm working with at work.

Just wanted to keep you updated.

my old NATO cans don't leak a drop when laid down flat with the mouth on the lower side... My preferred carry style, now, mucho more aero...

Steve, thanks for the update... seriously bro, thanks. It means a lot that you care to let us know whats up. I appreciate that so much more, than saying the day of... "sorry cant go dudes"

If you need any help with anything to make it happen say the word man.

Yep. A couple of heavy straps and well placed heavy duty bungees, so far so good. I want the Gobi badly but my business is down 90% from this time last year. :frown:

Manik light bar and PIAA 520's from Larry and I did the install. They worked incredible at Sheep Canyon last weekend.

Dave-

Looks like my son and I are in. We'll try and come up Thursday night as well. Great link you provided and you're website is real nice too.

I wanted to ask if it would be alright to invite a friend of mine? I really don't think he'll be able to get away but I wanted to ask anyway. He has a capable rig and is an ex-military pilot type, very low key, just like me, not! ;) Let me know either way, thanks.

Do you have any info on camping along the way? Do we need portable tables, portapotties, etc. or are we camping in actual campgrounds. Are we each bringing some wood, and do we need a portable fire ring?

Sweet! You are welcome to bring anyone you want man.

As far as camping goes.. we will be camping off the trail in areas that are not maintained or actual campgrounds. As far as tables and portapotties, yes bring em if you want. Bring whatever you normaly would for camping. There will be no facilities anywhere on the route as far as i know. Yes, everyone is bringing at least a few pieces of wood. We will need a group campfire 2 nights.. so if everyone stops off at the grocery store and picks up 1 bundle for $5.00 that should be good enough. As far as a fire ring, i dont really know, i will find that out Right now. I'll post up as soon as i get that information.

EDIT: Ok, just talked to my buddy that just ran the trail a few months ago. There are pre-existing rock rings all over the trail... so we don't need to bring a ring...(Unless someone really has the ambition to pack one with, be my guest).

Word to the wise: Don't eat the diner food at the AVI Casino. My buddy said 8 people had the runs on the Mojave Trail the next day. You are now warned! LOL

Dave, Already have a Slee on my window and back bumper. He sent along that sticker with the A/C dryer skid plate and I thought it looked pretty good there!

Gotcha, i thought you placed it there. Just seemed like an odd place for a sticker that was all.

Fire tub -

Just the right amount of rigs.

5PM at Carl's , green river and the 91 sounds good to me.

I'll try my best.... might be a bit late... is that ok?

What about meeting at Carls Jr. off 91 and Tustin Ave? *just one exit West of the 55 fwy

Then we can run up the carpool lane on the 57 and out the 60 instead?

The 91 sucks dude, i travel it EVERYDAY. :crybaby:
