Sounds good to me dude. You've ran the trail, i haven't. If you want to lead thats cool too, i dont really care. It would be nice to have someone that knows the trail really well lead IMHO.

I'll camp wherever. I dont have any problems camping anywhere. I was just throwing it out there. I've never ran the trail, so i was just taking ideas from others who have. Im game for camping anywhere. Those places sound fine to me.

We are meeting at 12 because there are people that have to drive a long ways just to get to the trail head. That leaves us plenty of driving hours. Say 5 before dark? That should be good enough for the first day. Plus, like i said others drove 3-4 hours just to get to the trail head. I would like to leave earlier too.. but we'll see what others want to do. What would you others want to do? We could meet at 10am instead? Fine with me.

Hey, where'd you tally the votes between post 21 and 22? I still can't say for sure whether I'll make it but if I do I prefer 10 to 12. I'm more concerned with the long trip home than getting up early to leave. I need to work out a driveshaft problem between now and then amongst other things.

Steve, if you need 12 bro, we'll do 12. Just let me know. I just asked the ONE person that has told me they're IN for sure. That's why you didn't see a vote :flipoff2: Everyone is so undecided these days and can't commit to anything (not saying you personally)... i swear. [rant/off]

So i figure the 2 of us that are commited can make it whatever time we want basically. But like i said, if you need 12 and you're going... that's not a big deal and is fine with us.

Keep me posted a bit ahead of time.

   :D :D :D
Commit?........Yeah most of us have a ring on a finger and kid(s) in the back seat - a fridge and a CO2 tank doesnt count (And putting bibs and diapers on them just makes it look silly)!

And I certainly dont have my own office window that I use to stare at an 80 all day long! :D
Enjoy it while you can!

Looking forward to the trip report and pics.

The trail is a old wagon road. There won't be many difficult spots if any. I've heard of a all wheel drive Suburu running it. Hell, i've seen pictures of 2wd pre-runner trucks doing it. It's not hard at all. Just real long. Be prepared to be in the seat for a long time.

I have the official guide with mile per mile directions. I also have uploaded the GPS waypoints to my oldschool GPS. There will be 1-2 people that have ran the trail already too.

As far as hauling your own gas... dont you have a roof rack and bumpers?

I have the OEM rack which is useless for jerry cans, and the stock bumper is plastic. but there is still time to get this problem resolved. Sounds like a fun trip and I am interested, but not yet committed.

Stan - if you can find a way to mount them securely, I've got two 5 gallon Wedco jerry cans with spout or super siphon you're welcome to borrow if you can do the trip.

I can't do this one or the Norcal DV trip. Greg and Patrick scheduled their Eagle Court of Honor for Friday the 23rd.

Turns out that I may be able to get an ARB full size rack and lights before the trip. now just need to find some $$. I'll be firm or out by fri. , but looking forward to going. (if my son comes -- 15yrs-- will there be places were he can learn to drive?)

Thanks for the offer, If I can go, I'll take you up on it.

I am very interested, this sounds like a lot of fun. I have extra fuel & water, camping and recovery gear as well as spare parts and tools. I just need to make sure my son isn't racing that weekend, I'll confirm this evening.

Truckhaven last weekend.

Hope gas isn't $4.00 by the end of the month!

On a side note, we couldn't get to the Fire Plug because Area 17 is closed indefinitely for "plant rehabiltation." What a bummer, please support CORVA before it's all gone.

Brent can you lay those Wedco's on their sides without leakage? So far the only cans I have found that don't leak when layed on their sides are the Scepters.
