This is an advanced feeler posting for a 2L-T from an ‘87 LJ70 I may be getting soon. Looking at probably mid April at the earliest for when it would be available. Would be looking to sell as I have decided to go with an engine swap if things work out.

LJ70 was acquired non-running from an estate. Some effort was put into getting it running to find out after getting it running that the rings are shot. The engine reportedly does run, but it has blowby. At a minimum it needs a ring job. I can not guarantee the condition of the head as it has not been pulled, but there were no obvious signs of a cracked head after it was running. Timing belt and tensioners were done, injectors were inspected and cleaned by a diesel shop, as was the injection pump.

Included is an extra injection pump that was also inspected and cleaned, as well as a few boxes of miscellaneous extra parts and anything on the rig I do not need for my swap. I will also include the bellhousing as I will not need it with the swap I am doing, so this engine should be able to bolt up to any r150f/r151f G series or W56 trans.

$1,600 OBO, not looking to ship at this time but may consider if it sits long enough.

Engine is out. Turns out it actually has a G52, bellhousing would work with a W56 as well. Will include the G52 if wanted, it will only work with a split case with the extension housing on it. Has about 115k miles.

So it looks like the 70 originally had the 2L, and PO was gathering parts to convert to a 2L-T. Bins have random engine parts like timing cover, oil pan, flex plate from an auto (?), PS pump, alternator, AC compressor and bracket (70 does not have AC), pullies, what I assume is a 2LT crank, rods and pistons, some new rod bearings (not enough for a rebuild), head gasket and other random seals and gaskets, and an extra engine wiring harness I believe.

Update: So it would appear this is actually a 2L that the PO was acquiring parts for to convert to a 2LT. I am not 100% sure, but I would guess based off of all of the turbo parts in the bins that the spare crank, rods and pistons are all from a 2LT. It also turns out the trans is a G52, not an R series like I thought. I will include the trans if desired, the bellhousing should let you use any G series trans or a W56. The G52 currently has the split case tailhousing (about 114K miles on it). May be willing to keep the spare injection pump to sell separate.
