Wonder if you local shop even checked spray pattern (hook up voltage and run a cleaning solvent)?
I too had a Dead #6 and replaced with with a refurb from RockAuto.com. No issues.
Had the other 5 cleaned at InjectorRx in Houston and they seems to have done a good job and sent back a before & after report plus lube to install them. Was a little over $100.
Dealer wanted somewhere around $700 to replace that one injector. I paid them $110 for diagnostics and changed it in my driveway. Not a hard job but somewhat tedious as I did not want anything broke.
