One of the biggest obstacles (not trail related) to keeping a club in this area running, is the military population and the frequent moves we make. There is a local web based club that is in the middle of a mass turn-over of the military members right now. It is tough to keep the domain name current when the club is intentionally kept very open, and dues aren't required, so it is very unique on that aspect. When it comes down to "electing" board members, with longevity in mind, keep the military guys in mind as we frequently get no notice orders and unfortunately have to abandon local clubs as such. If this was happening even 6 months ago I would be very motivated to assist forming this club in any way I could, but I will be moving on orders this year, and don't want to burden anyone with assuming anything I may suggest/start. I will probably hang around and make a meet and greet, but won't be very active.

green73... Please be as active as you can socially. We certainly understand your situation in regards to your move, but don't want you to withdraw your participation because of it. I welcome your participation and cruisenthusiasm for as long as you are here, all input is helpful at this stage.

Yes, join us. If we get a membership fee yours should be very low if any since we know you are leaving. Right now we don't have a need for fees since we havn't gotten to the point of paying for anything. 2everest might be putting up $10 for a domain name but we can take it out of his membership fee.
Yeah I understand the military thing, I did 5 years on Submarines. I think we should welcome military members and if they have to leave we should be able to prorate there fees.

I think we should meet Sunday 2pm @ the Jordan bridge park. It's before the toll on the Chesapeake side.

Oh make no mistake, I plan on helping while I can. I just wanted to point out one of the huge obstacles in this heavily military populated area. I do plan on making the run at the Meet and Greet. I'll try and drag another Cruiser guy or 2 along too.

a reminder

www.matlca.com all right here is the start of the web page. If you have any suggestions i'm up for them. If you wanting to be a member please email me @ mud@theshealys.com with a subject of like mud.

Put you mud name, and your name you want to be called(real name) and send a photo of your rig. It would make it easy on me if you don't send one huge file for a picture, but I can scale it down.

Hello all. Clark "PUP"harris here, hippy and all around swell guy. I would really like to see this thing get off the ground and be a part of it as much as I can. I hope to meet all of you Sunday.

Updated the site with Clark(PUPTLAM) and Rob(RiggerFJ80). Rob's Land Cruiser is only a few days old to him, but it doesn't look like he's going to make it out on Sunday. Rob your picture was a good size.

I just put them in kind of order like 40 in one column and 60 then 80. My wife saw the page and wants me to put here 100 in there, now I've got to come up with something different.

I think once we get a chat section we should make a post of what people are good at and can do. examples plain events, design logos, websites, rebuild axles, weld, electronics stuff like that to figure out where people can help one another in the club. I think the biggest thing we need now is more people to become members.

I can sew stuff and make smart-ass comments.

I have a butt load of tools and a welder, wire feed shielded flux only. I also will be getting my kegerator soon! I don't have a lot of free time but i would love to help out some fellow cruiser heads when I can and tell lies over some beers.

I like you already. :grinpimp:

BTW.....I can also help with lies and beer.

Yes, plenty of BS makes an awesome cruiser club :flipoff2:

I know I wish I could ditch, but you all know how it is, we'll see if it breaks down behind me on the way back ...

Everest- two things. Do you climb? And do you care if I steal your sig for the back of the LC? I'm too lazy to look it up, but there's a guy on YotaTech with the same one. I told a Jeep guy at work about it...he wasn't as amused as me!:D

Actually dude, I had a sticker on the back of mine too ...

It said exactly:

"I understand the Jeep thing, That's why I drive a Land Cruiser"

I had it made in the same font and style as the jeep stickers, F'n hilarious

I just tore it off, cause to many "big badass diesels and jeeps" were riding my ass because of it ..

"Badass" sarcastically, bye the way

I usually have three more lockers than them, hahahaha ...

Def. use it, I have never seen it before, I assumed I made it up, but maybe not!

No I don't climb, Everest is a metaphor I've used throughout my life. It means, I want to go as high and far as I can, in any way I can. I guess it gives me the meaning of everything ... That's what that's about.

I hope that's what you were referring to ...

Thanks for asking!
