Update: The root casue was the failed firmware update from Grom. I was able to get a new firmware installed yesterday, and functions are working again.

It continues to be a love/hate relationship. When it works, it's ok, but it's buggy. When it doesn't, I want to throw it out. I thought about either the Teyes or maybe just a portable Carplay unit as options going forward.
Hmmm Mine had been without a battery for 8 months so it didn’t do an update. It does give sound.

I am experiencing something similar... After attempting a firmware update, MFD screens are not working and I can't get the Grom UI to show. How were you able to fix this? Flashed an older version of firmware? And how do you flash it without the UI?

I ended up getting a new firmware file from GROM, placed it on a USB drive, plugged it in to the unit and it updated the firmware. Seems to have fixed the issue.

Were you able to use the UI to update the firmware? Or was there some special method to update it when the UI wasn't working?
