Yep, they are outstanding members of the Toyota community. If you ever get a chance to meet Mark at one of the TLCA events or any other outing, he is a standup guy.

Same goes for LT and Paxton. Great team at Metal Tech!

Finally got around to uploading some pics. Most of the stuff previously posted shows them from the outside so here's some better shots of the construction. Note that the legs pass through the gussets so there's not only the weld but also a true mechanical fit supporting the rails. Also note that the rails are unique in that they're a trapezoidal shape formed from laser cut steel that is then bent to shape and welded up.

I would hate to see a Corolla/Civic hit that...

^ or the car door of someone that parks a bit too close...

I wonder why they didn't cup the center sections that attach to the frame. Last night I was reading a thread about an 80 that had MT sliders and the center mounts for the frame wrapped around the rails and bolted at the top. On all the 100 series sliders I have seen, the brackets interface at the frame rails with about .5-.75" hanging down beneath the rails. I think it is referred to as a "rock anchor". I am sure incorporating this feature would drive up costs but MT sliders aren't your run-of-the-mill armor and this would place them heads and shoulders above the competition.

That's a good point Paul. I'm not a crawling guy so it's not as big of a deal to me, but you could probably take both the top and the bottom of the mounting plates and cut them to slope more. They already have a little bit of a slope to them at the bottom so it's not like it's a square edge that would catch, but more of a taper would make a better ramp for rock if they were to get hung on the frame rail.

The rock anchor you are referring to is the MAF caster correction plates they offer for the 80 series.

As far as the frame mounts hanging below the frame out of the 7 years we have had the 80 sliders out on the market the mounts have not been an issue in terms of rock crawling. If you are dragging on your frame then you have bigger problems then a sliders mounts hanging below the frame.

Thanks for the response. Like I said, I have never seen a 100 with them mounted any different from how you or any other 100 slider manufacturer makes them. I just thought it looked cool on the sliders I saw made for the 80. The Metal Tech sliders still look to have the most thought put into the design.

Got a call this morning from the freight company, not happy that I cant get there till Monday...Ill post up pics next week....

It's possible. It's a question of finding someone local who can lend us their 200 series for a length of time to prototype and build fixtures. Ubolts, the mounting feet on the frame and the proper length slider bodies would all have to be made prior for slider development.

Mine crossed the border into the Conch Republic Thursday afternoon. I had to leave town, but plan to swap out my old home brews for the real deal very soon. Nice work on the shipping LT. Less than $100 from the Pacific Northwest to the Atlantic Southwest isn't bad at all.

Mine shipped last Monday and the freight company called on Friday to say they were ready for pickup, Ill be there first thing in the morning and hopefully have them mounted up tomorrow.

Picked em up Monday morning and get em installed Monday night. Not the easiest thing to do pretty much by yourself, my 9 year old tried to help....

Well wrapped and bolted to the pallet

Im gonna have to get used to setting my foot on them when I get out to keep them from rubbing the back of my pant leg.

I am thinking about putting these on along with Slee's belly pan, which replaces the OEM crossmember. Is anyone running both of these parts (MT slider + SLEE skid plate) currently?

If not, is it possible to get some dimensions posted from anyone that might have each item?

In particular, I am just concerned about interference along the frame rail of the slider mounts and the belly pan mount.

Any help here is greatly appreciated!
